It's a valid point. UFC wanted huge stars for 200. To get a bit enough name, they had to look outside their organization, at a guy who hasn't fought in 5 years.

That should tell you how bad they are at creating stars. Ronda and Conor are the only megastars they have created. The other megastar they had (GSP) they chased away by treating him poorly.

If you go a level below megastar to the 'big names' - just look how many developed their fanbase outside the UFC in Pride, Strikeforce etc. UFC completely suck at creating stars by themselves. TUF - which was supposed to do exactly that - completely failed.
