UFC BJJ: Road to the Title

This is my dream. Combat grappling:
1. Fight starts standing
2. No standing strikes allowed
3. All ground strikes allowed
4. No points pants
5. Win is either by KO, sub, or decision. Decision is awarded on damage/positional dominance (in that order).
6. MMA gloves are worn

This is kind of a weird setup IMO

Just give us 4oz Muay Thai already and stop with this other gay shit.

Ho leee fuck this is a hard pass from me. Would rather watch power slap.

So you wouldn't watch? I'd watch the shit out of that but I don't know how many other people would. Grappling and GNP are two beautiful things... I just don't get why there's no sport that combines them while omitting the kickboxing element.

LMAO I was going to write this but instead made less obvious but more ridiculous post.
Then why not just also allow striking on the feet and just call it MMA?
Because it'd be combat grappling not MMA. Same reason why MMA doesn't ban everything except punches on the feet and then call it boxing which also already exists.

Also minor side note... no it wouldn't be an MMA-copy on the ground... because all grounded strikes would be allowed. Upkicks, knees to head, etc. All the cool stuff that current unified rules ban for no discernible reason in other words.

Your ruleset might have more support among some combat sambo guys, than BJJ or submission grappling athletes.
Most BJJ practitioners like grappling without the risk of getting CTE and like to keep it that way. Otherwise there is always MMA.

Most grandmothers at my local grocery store prefer the same. They also prefer that in MMA all strikes in all positions should be banned in addition to no unpleasant glances being exchanged.

In all seriousness though, I'm a BJJ guy. I don't know if I'm a rarity though, but I'd watch it for sure.

You for sure might be.
When asked when they are going to transition to MMA, most top BJJ athletes say that they are happy not to get hit in the head and that it is great that they have other ways to make money nowadays than MMA.

Watched a few episodes it was enjoyable. Will continue watching to the end.
