UFC 316: Dvalishvili vs. O'Malley 2

Does anyone see the main event being any difference from the first fight? And if so, how?

There were at least two rounds you could have given Sean. Two judges scored it 47-48 for Merab.

While i think it's a dog or pass. It's overall not a fight id like to bet on. Just because activity and style matchup favors Merab, maybe at best i get a -120 decision line. its just not a crazy fight with upside, unless you're willing to gamble it and punt a play for Sean by ko.

I'm going to bet Sean +5.5 if odds are decent... Merab breaking his toe recently shouldn't help him and I think Sean could do better this time around regardless.

I'll be out of town for the next two UFC cards, so I won't be able to make any other bets aside from the ones I made today in Las Vegas:
  • Vicente Luque +195 $100 for $195
  • Waldo Cortes Acosta +110 $300 for $330
  • Patchy Mix -165 and -170 $3366 for $2000
I also have Quillan Salkilld in a parlay with Joaquin Buckley on the following card.

So far i just dont have any trust in Sean and his antics. He looks like he's concerned about being an influencer and doing a bunch of side quest. Merab is far more focused and invested in mma. Juxto pose both their IG and you can see who is about that life.

I'm gonna take a small stab at Bruno by KO or ITD (need to see the odds), way too big of a dog against a Van who got chinned by Charles Johnson.

Pyfer first round finisher versus toughest guy in the division.

K Gastelum 4.00

If Sean throws he gives himself a chance at least. He fought a very low volume fight last time completely opposite what hes used to. I took Merab then and I think he wins now but Sean has a lots of things he could do different. As for quick rematch comparisons we have Usman chinning Mas, Bisping chinning Rockhold etc. These things rarely play out exactly like they did in the first. I cant actually think one title fight rematch that played out just like first (unless we count extremely close fight following an extremely close fight - but even those are rare) but theres first time for everything I guess.

No...except to say that rematches rarely play out the same as the first fight. Which sounds cliche' (and is), and it seems that every Merab fight looks the same. So...in short I have no idea LMAO.

Yeah I'm not. I'm not convinced he can stop Merab either. Eventualy he'll be on his back imo.

Does anyone think Bautista has anything for Patchy? I don't. Line should be wider and $ has come in on Bautista. I parlayed Patchy with Cong Wang.

Also LMAO at the graphic showing Patchy as the #27 Bantamweight worldwide. Uhh, who's ranking them? You can't find me 6 better BW's let alone 26.

Agreed and clearly PuertoRican does too if he laid over 3 grand on Mix lol. I think he'll get his back early.

Unless Mix is hit with same crossover bellator star magic as Will Brooks or Hector Lombard Id say hes got this. I like Bautista though so not sure if Im making plays on this.

Only thing that worries me is the layoff and Bautista's potential pressure on the feet now that he has to fight a deadly grappler, but given how the Blackshear fight went Mix should style on him. I'm thinking of playing his sub line pre-fight and then doing a live bet sometime during the first round if he starts slow like Nascimento did last night.

No.

I am watching Embedded right now and it helped me remember how and why Sean is so easy for Merab to take down.

Sean is a long range striker. He extends his arms and legs really far every time he strikes, which makes it easy for Merab to grab him and get inside, or just counter the strike and go for a TD without needing a clinch.

Sean being so tall and fighting long like he's supposed to is what's his downfall against Merab and Umar.

Patchy Mix has good enough striking to stay on the feet until he sees a spot to get the clinch or shoot for a TD. Once Mix grabs Bautista, it's over.

Mix can win by submission or 3 rounds of back control. The method depends on how good Bautista's submission defense is at the highest level.

Mix is one of the three best bantamweight fighters in the world, alongside Merab and Umar. Mix also trains or has trained a lot with Merab.

I might take same approach. Ideal would be Bautista forcing grappling and getting gillyed. Not smart of Bautista to grapple but mind works in weird ways.

Its hw mma but shouldnt Spivak be level or two higher than Waldo. Waldo is annoying af and hes made art of being annoying but will it lead him close to title? Because next step from Spivak is a contender fight.
