UFC 294 is not a good card.

There's a bunch of good fighters on the card, but not many interesting match ups, and the match ups that are interesting involve short notice replacements which makes me less interested in them.

So I do understand where you are coming from.

If they have Basraat vs Said instead, then it could been a pretty decent main card if also Ikram vs one of Bullet/Bruno

Volk vs Islam
Khamzat vs Usman
Ikram vs Bullet/Bruno
Said vs Basraat
Walker vs Magomed

294 is the best card of the year.

Makhachev/Volk - top two P4P fighters in the world
Chimaev/Usman
Aliskerov
Magomedov
Ankalaev
Mokaev

Do people really think this is a good card, or just going with the consensus?

I usually judge cards based on how many compelling fights there are on it, and there's only one compelling fight in this one; Khamzat and Usman. Even then, Usman is a short notice replacement.

Oliveira vs Islam, Imavov vs Ikram were as well, but they also got replacement opponents. I consider rematch with Volk as a good, interesting fight, but nothing more.

It's not like I'm not giving them credit, because I think I was the only one who called their first fight breakdown almost spot on. I wouldn't count out Volk or anything like that, but him coming on a short notice kinda turns that fight down a notch or two. I mean, no one really wanted this rematch right away, though I'm sure there may have been some.

The only other decent fight is Bruno Silva vs Sharabutdin, and that's really about it.

I'm just curious if people really think this is a good card, or just going with the cheery spirit of Sherdog. For me, good cards are something like UFC 285 or 286 if we pick from this year.
I've said it already that it's lackluster, especially outside the 2 main fights. I'll watch it and enjoy though.

285 rivals 294, but Jones was coming off of two fights 3 years prior where he didn't look great at all (still washed imo), and many of us aren't interested in WMMA....

I mean it's all subjective really, if it is, then great and hope you enjoy the show!

I'm from Ireland, it's prime time for me
It is on TNT sports
I am having a few beverages, with some shitty frozen pizza and going to have a blast

My wife is even watching. She won't get up in the middle of the night, but she likes card on prime time.

After I took her to ufc 72 back in 2007, she has embraced the violence.

If she complains?

I think the card is kinda top heavy, the only fight I'm really intrigued to see on the prelims is Wood/Naimov.
Then the co-main and main bein put together on short notice doesn't make it as interesting in the sense that those fights deserve a proper buildup IMO.

I'm honestly still sad we lost Islam/Oli 2 and Khamzat/Costa, well it is what it is.
Might be a fun card tho, we'll have to wait and see. Hopefully my boy Volk shocks me and pulls it off.

It has great bearded fighters. The matches are squash matches but we at least get really good fighters on one side of the equation.
Anytime I can see Khamzhat I'm happy.
The replacement fighters on the top of the card are name only to sell tickets. Usman and Volk will get blown out as untraining unprepared fighters.

I think it's pretty meh, myself. Im not interested in charles personally, so i think the main event switch is an improvement, but it's still the worst ppv in months. probably since the june one.

It’s a serviceable replacement card without tanking the top fights with great replacements….@4AM

Its not amazing but it will be fun.

This main/comain combo is the best we've had all year, you're a dork

Def wish those fights were proper prepared fights. We will see. If they were prepared, they can very win that. The question is are they.

Charles is more dangerous, so it's more interesting I guess. Not necessarily better.

Epic first prelim fight, that's for sure.

Look man. I got my coffee and my quiet dogs around me settled in for a peaceful morning of violence. @KOPPE is getting me a sausage egg and cheese on an everything bagel and I have an excuse to pack a big fat bowl at 2pm. The 2 most talented fighters in the ufc fight today. Just take it easy and have a good time

Runny egg or overcooked egg?

I dont think he has anything for islam. Was not at all interested in them rematching. This one is bitter sweet though because volk is the more interesting matchup imo, but without actual prep time, It's almost a waste.
