TD attempts and holding someone against the cage aren't worth a lot, but they're worth more than doing nothing and being held against the cage. Giving Aldo rd 2 would be criminal.

Yeah, Merab didn't do much, but Aldo did less.
 
I believe most judges would score the second for Merab if they score the first one for Aldo also. Basicly hedging your judging if in doubt, and they should be in doubt regarding the first/second.

With that said, 29-28 Merab?
 
See, I think that's age catching up somewhat. He had no response in the 3rd round and just took his beating.
 
Merab 29-28 at worst, maybe 30-27.

And I gotta think my sig strikes bet cashed pretty easily too. That was a gem.

Edit: Aldo landed more sig strikes? Shit, I guess what I call "significant" must be different. Lost that one I guess...still made bank but damn.
 
glad i passed. but i guess i'll take the L in the debate stage that it wasnt a safe fight for Merab. i was wrong, he did do the mma thing and mixed it all up well.
 
Weird that Aldo just didn't throw. when fighters age they start to become a bit too tentative. Now is the time for Aldo / Cruz!
