For as much as clown Pereira is, he's just too hard to catch clean because he moves a lot.
Look at the exchange at the end. Pereira's feet are constantly moving and taking angles. You have to adjust to keep up with him, and if you're a tad slow you'll miss him every time. Simple as that.
