News UFC 259 Start Time Updated: Blachowicz vs. Adesanya event to start earlier

Good thing I will probably watch the entire card on my shift, would hate to stay in the office until the fights are over and I also don't like to rush to home to continue watching the card, I have missed several fight because of that

Can't believe this card is still intact. Thanks TS. Cheers sherbros.

See ya'll filthy muthas in the PBP thread

I am sure I asked you before but whats the woman' name in your av? She is so pretty :D

Haha, I have no idea.

Someone actually posted the GIF many years ago in a spider thread in Mayberry, and I thought fuck...I need that as my avatar haha.

Yeah it's wild this card is completely intact. I think people were expecting at least a few cancellations. Sadly I'll miss the early prelims.

Probably lol, this is gonna be the longest event ever. Better hope all 3 title fights don't go the distance <Lmaoo>

Of course they are expecting to lose fights. It is now normal to lose at least 1 if not 2 during fight week. This is called COVID planning, smart from UFC. The fact nothing has happened is a big win for the fans.

Last weekends card had 15 fights scheduled but it came down to just 9 fights after 6 fights got cancelled.

Dominick Reyes vs. Jiří Procházka - Rescheduled Due to COVID Protocols

Alonzo Menifield vs. William Knight - Menifield Tested Positive for COVID

Randy Brown vs. Alex Oliveira - Brown Withdrew, was replaced by Ramazan, who then also withdrew due to illness

Raphael Assunção vs. Raoni Barcelos - Assunção Withdrew, was replaced by Rojo, then Assuncao tested positive for COVID

Emily Whitmire vs. Hannah Cifers - Cifers Withdrew, was replaced by Hughes, then Whitmire also withdrew

Angela Hill vs. Ashley Yoder - Yoder Cornerman Positive for COVID

Also, last weekends card had 8 fights go to a decision, with just one fight ending by finish....imagine if that was repeated here, it'll be like a 9 hour event.

Im pretty they time the fights so they start like 30 minutes apart regardless of fight time until the ppv starts anyway. Definitely less exciting and makes the card feel longer though lol

Eastern time zone here

Anticipating the main event to go easily past 2 AM
ET as well and agree it’s going to be a late one.

Question: they mean the Fight Pass Prelims at 5:15 instead of 6, but the Prelims on ESPN+ are still at 8pm ET, right?

NVM: I answered my own question. Thanks anyway guys.

Yup. Hopefully I won't pass out for this one like the last PPV that went past 2

Yeah, the UFC has been following the traditional airline technique of overbooking f(l)ights expecting some people will cancel. And it's not like they have to beg people to give up their seats when everyone shows up.

What if all three are epic violent back and forth 5 round wars though? <BC1>
