UFC 231: Rate the Card

pretty crap

of course the main event is solid
but am i watching this live at 5am? nope

8/10 overall, 8/10 ppv wise.

Sucks Moicano/Bektic is off, but glad Gadleha/Nina is off the main card.

Ppv is better now. All 5 fights feature former FOTN winners. But, sherdoggers gonna bitch & moan anyways.

I swear it's Brazilian thing. My wife can do that too, no idea how but I'm not complaining.

TS, I rate the card 3/10.

There are only 3 fights I want to see. The card is weak because there is no proper main event and there are 2 featherweight fights on main card, plus a WMMA fight.

It's not good.

Ortega vs Holloway isn't a proper main event?

Wtf it's one of the best fights that can be made in mma.

Why the fuck are some of you even watching mma?

Would you be happier if I change it to co-main event? The card is missing a big fight. As of now, the Holloway fight is the only fight worthy of being on a PPV main card.

It's a really weak PPV.
Well I agree with you on everything else, card is indeed very weak if you take main event away, but i just tought it was harsh thing to say it about main event in particular

9/10, fantastic card, only 2 fights i'm not invested at

100%
some fucking idiots here don't care about the sport, if there's no "big name" the card automatically sucks

considering the fights currently booked in MMA, this card has 2 (Holloway-Ortega and JJ-Shevchenko) of the best 4 (other 2 being Jones-Gus and Cyborg-Nunes)

The nerve of UFC to sell this as a pay per view.
This should be on Fox.

Are you buying the ppv? Would u buy the ppv if it was the only way to see it live?

For me, that's the standard for a PPV event. I'm as hardcore as the next guy, but I could miss this whole card on Saturday and catch up Sunday, and not lose any sleep. Not the same for Jones-Gus, Anderson-Stylebender, even TJ-Cejudo.

Desiring a bit of intrigue from a $70 PPV event doesn't make you any less of a fan.

6 / 10 at best from me. A bit top heavy but some decent scraps throughout.

Most anticipated bouts:

- Holloway/Ortega
- Shevchenko/Jędrzejczyk
- Oliveira/Nelson
- Manuwa/Santos
- Katona/Lopez

Main card is an 8 for me. Prelims are underwhelming minus Burns vs. OAM.

Ya Boi will become My Boy if he kills Elias.

Fire/10

Littered with fun match ups top to bottom.

That main and Co main are just

<{JustBleed}><{JustBleed}>

Fierra x Ronson: fire
Laprise x Lima: fire
Katona x Lopez: fire
Clark x Rakic: OK, Def not bad
OAM x Burns: fire
Anders x Theo: hope Anders sleeps em, probably won't
Chookagian x Eye: meh
Gadelha x Ansaroff: ok
Manuwa x Santos: fire
Dawodu x Bochniak: just bleed
Oliviera x Nelson: very underrated match up
Bullet x JJ: fire
Holloway x Ortega: Outstanding!

6/10 overall. A few bright spots but ho-hum for the most part.

I'm a brazilian living in Brazil, we don't have PPV.
Let's say i was living in US though, i'd probably pay for it. Sure. To me it's a fantastic card, much better than UFC 230 for example.

If Ortega-Holloway doesn't intrigue you, you're less of a fan, no way around it.
I'm less of a boxing fan than many guys here on the SD boxing board, but at least i assume that and would never post such stupid thing as the post i referred to.

LOL UFC selling this crap to the Canadians.
I can’t convince my buddies to go cause the card sucks and decent tickets are over $200 usd.

Nose bleeds are $170+ ... UFC obviously thinks us Canadians are suckers and we’ll buy any crap they give us because so far we have done exactly that.
