Jordan wasn't a horrible baseball Player. I agree with your sentiment, there's just this weird revisionist history where he was "God awful" bc of his batting average, but there are players currently who have worse averages than Jordan. I think people were just so excited at the Baseball prospect that him being so mediocre (well, lets be fair, "Sub-Par") was enough to crucify his game.
