lets wait imo barboza is the hardest matchup for khabib in the lw division. i think barboza is harder to fight for khabib than ferguson. doesnt matter if ferguson won against barboza... styles makes fights.

At the time, people were actually talking about how MJ "rocked" Khabib in the first and had hurt him bad. He throws very fast and accurate punches and I believe it was a right hook that surprises Khabib, but he was clearly not "rocked". His pressure footwork looked good and his defense was responsible, if a little basic. Barboza will probably hit him early, but I don't think he'll hit a crazy flying knee or really get off enough leg kicks (while avoiding the TD) to slow Khabib down enough to make his wrestling ineffective.
But honestly Barboza is a super live dog here. He's such a dynamic finisher, has good footwork to avoid Khabib getting a hold of him, and he scrambles pretty well. He also trains with Zabit, a guy who showed a lot of similarities in terms of wrestling to Khabib, lots of waist cinch and body lock stuff. Not to mention Frankie Edgar. He will be well prepared.

Can't wait.
