Aldo was countered HARD when he threw his first leg kick in the first fight. Max seemed to plan on eating it to return a shot to Aldo's chin. I really think that changed Aldo's mind about throwing them. More so than the supposed injured leg

100% this. Most guys have never had the combination of reach and timing to make him pay, Max did.

Yeah he's stopped using them as much in recent years but apparently he was injured in the 1st Holloway fight and thats why he didn't use them.
