Why is there even a grounded opponent rule? Weidman tried to milk it and go along with it but the camera does not lie. Just get rid of this grounded opponent rule. UFC has enough of a hard time understanding their own rules.

Bruh this makes no sense. If a ref calls something a foul I will agree and take the time given. If they made a mistake in calling a foul tough shit you can't give a loss because of that common sense is those knees wouldn't have finished Weidman. How can you go back look at replays say they were legal and call a fight when you (The ref) was who told me to stop fighting in thefirst place.

They werent massive fight ending knees though just a couple of knees to the head

Weidman could fight through that easy but he fell down and started acting dazed and confused to get a breather because he was tired, in my opinion

I mean in the post fight interview he told Joe he put his hands down to stop Mousasi being allowed to knee him so in Weidmans mind as soon as he got hit with a knee he must have instantly decided to flop to the ground and act hurt so he could catch a breather and regain his cardio it makes sense for him to do
 
This is what should have happened:

Big Dan stopped the fight due to an illegal shot (or so he thought). There is no replay available to the ref. So the ref's decision should stand, and Weidman should get 5 minutes to recover. If he can continue, they keep fighting. If he can't, its a no contest.

Why the fuck is big Dan consulting the replay. He's not allowed to do so.
 
Still feel weidman had a big part in that, he should have tried to look like he wanted to fight, he was very apathetic.
The blame is on Big Dan, he shoulda have some common sense and made the guys fight, hes the one that stopped it because the 5 minutes were up.

Mirg stepped in calling them illegal. Whether they were or weren't, at that point you don't go ask someone, you stick with your call and wait 5 minutes and then they keep fighting. If the knee was legal that's not totally fair to Gegard obviously, but it's still a hell of a lot better than the debacle we had.
