I think he's kinda got a point, though. No one really believed Ronda had amazing stand up or anything. She's always had one very clear path to victory, but it just happens that HH caught her early fucked her up in the process. Shit happens, its fighting after all. In a rematch, I'd still make Ronda a decent sized favorite over Holm. I personally think we're getting amazing odds on Ronda because everyone still has bloody, concussed, broken jaw-ed Ronda on the floor in the back of their minds

On the one hand, I get his (and your) point. On the other hand, a lot of people DID think Ronda's stand up was, if not "good", at least plenty good enough where she'd never have to worry about being in trouble vs a better striker because the what she did well would always just overwhelm them. Hell I even thought it to a degree.

But now we've seen otherwise. And let's be honest, the girls Ronda were beating never even TRIED to do what Holm did for any extended period of time at all (or thy were so unskilled with their striking that they just weren't capable of it). Cat bumrushed Ronda right into the clinch. Brilliant. Bethe? LOL c'mon. I mean, run back through the girls she's beaten and there's literally not one legit striker in the group. Or at least nobody even within miles of Holm or Nunes. So while we can say Holly "happened" to catch her early, given the level of strikers Ronda had faced it's not crazy at all to think she may struggle again against one that's just way better than she is.

Or, like I said, Ronda might gain the clinch right away and sub Nunes inside a minute LOL. Kind of a crapshoot imo.

lol watching Cody self-destruct is the most entertaining thing of this card by far. You put one of the most opinionated, confident, and intelligent guys in mma and you put him against meathead Cody and you get magic.
Reality tv bs...

Ronda didnt allow anyone to implement their game plan. She went in there and imposed her will on everyone she faced

It's a really tough fight for Nunes. She has to get Ronda out early or her chances of winning are gonna exponentially decrease with each passing round. The kicker is: Ronda is historically great in the first round.

I was originally on Nunes +187 but have bought out of that and taking Ronda on some props, might livebet Ronda too. Biggest change for me was seeing how Tate looked against Pennington and then her retiring. However impressive Nunes looked against Tate, Tate seems to have seriously lost motivation after winning the title and therefore maybe Nunes is not quite the beast she looked in taking the belt.

Then also we have Ronda in terrific shape. I think if you look historically at Ronda she reacts badly to life setbacks initially but then she refocuses and comes back strong. There's stuff about her putting on weight and being depressed after failing to win Olympic gold and she went on to almost single-handedly turn women's MMA into a PPV attraction and totally dominate her division. All the early signs after the Holm loss were bad from Ronda but now seeing her in such fantastic condition, I don't doubt her psychology going into this. That's not saying Nunes can't win but I think this will be Ronda at her best in there.

Well yeah both are obviously fast starters. And for sure Ronda imposed her will. But like I said, easier to do that vs that level of striker than vs someone like Holm or Nunes. By a LOT. I think Cat potentially could have at least hung in there a bit and given RR something to think about but she sprinted right into Ronda's sweet spot. But she's literally the ONLY win on RR's resume' that you can say has good WMMA striking, and she negated it herself by showing the worst fight IQ possibly in the history of the sport LOL.

I'm honestly really surprised at how many of you guys are surprised by Ronda showing up in shape and seemingly motivated. I think the fight is pretty much a toss up, so like Nunes for value at dog odds. But never did I think we'd get some mopey, flabby, unmotivated version of Ronda here. She took the loss horribly (obviously LOL) but she's had plenty of time to get back in fight mode. She's a pro, she wants to win this to take "her rightful place" back at the top of WMMA. The fact that she's ripped and ready...well hell yes she is.

For me the question is and will be until we see it happen is how she reacts when she gets bloodied or in a bad spot again. There's for sure a chance it doesn't even happen in this fight, but I tend to think Nunes will at least have a moment where she stings Ronda or whatever and then...we'll see what happens.

But people switching to Ronda just because she looks focused and in shape? Bizarre. If anything to me it would be due only to line movement in that she's only a slight favorite now.

LMFAO Cody shoving balloons up his nose to help him perform. You can't make this shit up

Yeah this is one of the weirder interviews ever....

Can't even begin to imagine how bad he's gonna look at the weigh ins. He's so dehydrated his thought process is scattered.

Also: "how's the training camp been?"
"TRAININGCAMPSBEENAWESOME.errr..training camp sucked"

Looks like the weight cut has taken its toll on him, almost looks drugged up with his movements and the way he speaks. Really like Hendricks so its a shame, hope he makes weight and looks good.

Says TJ isn't as fast as Dodson, says he won't be chasing TJ

Says the fight changed to a southpaw wrestler

Says he drank and didn't train for a month (since Oct loss)

I actually liked Hendricks in that interview. He was pretty playful.
