Okay just want to post this regarding Magny/Hendricks:
For the record, I'm on Magny and have been from the start. Anyone who's been through this thread has seen me break it down and show all of my rationale for betting Magny. It's all here. I'll add it up later but I think I'm over 3u on him now.
BUT...
Can we please not act like the guys who jumped on the other side of this were crazy lunatics for betting Jhonny initially? First of all, even though Hendricks missed weight and looked bad, the fight hasn't happened yet. If he goes out and wins tomorrow (which despite a lot the talk is still possible LOL) then what? He looked awful at the weigh in and missed weight but it didn't matter. But even if he loses (which hopefully he does), there was still solid rationale for betting him. Magny is coming off a brutal KO loss. While he's shown the ability to bounce back from losses, you never know if this one rattled him worse, etc. Unlikely, but possible. Second, for all the talk about how awful Jhonny looked vs Kelvin, the reality is he was actually pretty competitive. He arguably won a round, and at no point looked totally outclassed or anything. Yeah Kelvin won, and he deserved to win, but it wasn't a mismatch. I think through 2 rounds sig strikes were actually dead even! And given what Kelvin just did at MW to Kennedy, I mean jeez. It's not like Hendricks went out and got stopped by Charlie Brenneman LOL. He went the distance and lost a fairly competitive fight (not razor close, but not a one sided beatdown either) to a REALLY good fighter in Kelvin.
Anyway I just had to put this out there. Sometimes we (and I say we because I damn sure do it to) pick our side and feel good about it and from there we end up looking at things with a totally skewed perspective. I think that's happened here a bit with how awful Jhonny looked today, the weird interview yesterday, and him missing weight.
Okay, rant over LOL.
