It was embarrassing how much like a ciircus UFC 198 looked. Souza was doing some ridiculous type of clap where he positioned his hands vertically apart instead of horizintally apart which obviously looked ridiculous. At least he won though which somewhat made up for his "alligator walk." I'm not even going to say what I think of that gimmick because I try not to think of it. The worst part of the show was the main event though.
It was absolutely embarrassing to see the man holding the most prestigious title in the sport making clown faces to the crowd before his fight. Clearly he wasn't in a serious mood. He should have been. I didn't see him making any more of those clown faces on his way out of the Octagon though, did you? Does he get fined for that or does Zuffa not mind their fighters making a circus sideshow of what should be a prestigious, highly respected sport? I'll bet it's going to be a lot harder to sell tickets to a UFC event the next time The UFC comes to that city. I'm sure the fans didn't feel like the pre-fight antics of Werdum made up for the short, one sided fight. Do the fans feel that Werdum gave them their money's worth? I seriously doubt it and neither did Vitor Belfort. I'm not sure he even connected with even one punch and the way he was "fighting" didn't look like fighting to me. He looked like someone doing his best to avoid fighting. The whole thing was an embarrassment. If I had been watching it with people who had never seen MMA before I would not have been able to defend the sport to them.
