Hey you guys have no problem with the UFC HW Champ doing that troll face move 24/7 like I don't know it is way overused at this point and just making it all seem goofy like.. I don't get that baddest man on the planet vibe from Werdum at all then the overused troll face and it's a wrap.

Why does it matter?

Ufc HW champ and not giving a fuck about acting tough......alpha as fuck

I'm anxious to see how this werdum mask thing goes down

Simple if he wins a classic if he losses not a fun memory and that "you are a great fire fighter" comment again will be a black eye for disrespecting the opponent that kicked your but in front of thousands of your troll smile faces in your own backyard.

But he has more experience, more overall skills when you think about it, home court advantage like 100%, pressure from all the crazy fans and mask scenario and death chants and what not, all that paranoia from the week or so he stayed in that country leading up to fight night thinking and hoping not to get his food and drinks spiked with something.

Stipe brings to the table: youth & hungry, a speed advantage, TD defense, good stats on him a long fighter with good reach that can match the stats of his opponent and better boxing and that's about it.. we will see if it's enough he is the clear underdog considering the full context of the scenario.

I can't tell if Werdum is genuinely underestimating Stipe or if he's acting like he is as a premeditated excuse for what he knows is a sure loss and, as my fellow dogger said earlier, is just enjoying his (very short) time in the lime light.

Stay tuned, we'll find out about this time tomorrow night

Don't sleep on Stipe's wrestling.

I know that Werdum likely has a distinct and significant advantage grappling, but a potential ground exchange isn't necessarily an instant submission win for him. He's been to the ground for extended periods with fighters who have less grappling credentials than Stipe and didn't finish.

Stipe has never been in a disadvantaged position on the ground. Of course, going to the mat favors Werdum but it's still somewhat of a question mark, at least on Stipe's side.

Thanks for sharing.

Interesting to see how Cyborg cut weight. I just have a feeling that the Brazilian fighters are going to bring a lot of violence tomorrow.

Yea I agree a big part of Cain's massive failure was that fear of going to the ground with Werdum and he only used his wrestling when he was gassed and got submitted witch made the majority of sherbros point and say see what happens if you go to the ground with him.

I'm not in favor of this instant death sentences if you go to the ground with Werdum other fighters managed to stay there for a decent amount of time, I'm not saying just take him down and just fight him in a straight BJJ match for full 5 minutes but train to defend some subs and have confidence that you can take him down and be on the ground with him for 30 seconds and not instantly get killed.. freaking Travis Browne survived on the ground others can do it don't prolong the experience but mix it up score some points, open up the game a bit.

You can't let Werdum just take away a part of your game just by fear of the sub and completely avoiding that area.

Man. You nailed it, I've probably never agreed with any post on Sherdog more than this one.

Now what if this same theory is the reason why Stipe lost to Struve? Stipe deliberately avoided any grappling exchanges with Stefan despite scoring takedowns. He made Struve stand up. That was immediately following an arm bar win for Struve where he pulled guard with his back against the fence against Lavar Johnson.

I actually think he made the exact opposite mistake against JDS and tried too hard to grapple in attempt to follow Cain's Gameplan, even though he hs better striking than Cain!

anyway it's totally possible he gets a TD tomorrow and doesn't follow him down. I wouldn't even fault him for that. But I do agree with you on the negative way Werdum's grappling impacts his opponents' strategies

Butt hurt Cain fan is butt hurt.

I am "butt hurt" of course I support Cain and I'm not one to pick up my toys and leave when the going goes tough but this isn't me taking a swipe at Werdum that's just how I see things.. but wait and you will see more with my opinion now it's always hard because he is the man the Champ and has wins after wins but when he doesn't have the strap and has a loss or two let's see then the public perception of Werdum.. you think that true hardcore MMA fans don't know his big wins are opportunistic that's why even in his present heyday you don't see him agreed on being the GOAT.
