Yup like linekar coming in he just has that solid chin and one punch power to back any opponent backwards. Also like trinaldo again the guy is 37 but he has perfected his style, seems to be doing everything right with weight cutting and adjustments mixing in solid striking with technique and wrestling, like him su won't be surprised if he gets a decision.
Agree about Lineker, will be on him if the EU lines are decent.

I dont remember the Yancy v. Makdessi fight. I know I was on Makdessi. What happened though, anyone recall?
15 mins of neither guy finding rhythm just pitter patting with each other. Could've gone either way from what I recall.

I was on Yancy and I thought he lost the fight quite clearly. He looked worse than ever in that fight, seemed like something was wrong with him.

I'm very interested in lb the first three fights especially Chagas albeit my capping of Chagas is from fight finder and Moraes being complete fade material. Who in their right mind would bet Moraes at -400 unless there's something BIG i don't know...

I'm also not writing Shogun off. Corey has made me £££ his last two fights but i don't think he is that good.

Just realized that Bellator is on the same time as this event instead of on Friday night. Smh Bellator....

I think you need to recall what makes Lineker win fights, he swings widely with not that great technique, more pride wand style. So if people get into a firefight with him, for sure he has a good chance of knocking you out.

I just think Font is much smarter than for example Riviera was. Was hoping that Font would be a much bigger dog though. Fun fight for sure.

This will be a fun event for betting :)

Sham,

I am writing Shogun off but interested to hear you out on this. imo Corey will be his kryptonite, much faster with good footwork. Granted Shogun can land a bomb and its lights out whereas Corey doesn't have that ability.

i'm going to be throwing flyers on shogun and yancy but miocic is my big dog play.

that may be true but he should beat Shogun. i wouldnt hate a Shogun by TKO play since its +500 tho

I clearly remember the Yancy/Makdessi fight. I was on Yancy medium/big and totally thought he lost the fight. I'm pretty sure the audience and everybody on here thought he lost, too. It was a borderline robbery, IIRC. I was shocked I won the bet

i remember being stoked to win the bet but knew it could've gone the other way. i think people are overstating the robbery on it, personally

I've made $ on Corey's past 3-4 fights and I feel the same way as you do. I'm looking to play Shogun in a variety of ways. nothing big, of course. I like the +505 DEC line so far and have some on his no SC at -113

I don't think it was a CLEAR robbery, but a borderline robbery. Almost everybody had it for Makdessi, including myself. He was the true winner. I was 100% prepared to lose my bet on Yancy

One of the only things i'm confident about in this fight is that Stipe's strategy will be to use his footwork to control the center and keep Werdum at the end of his punches without putting his back to the cage at any point. Werdum has never fought anyone near as fleet of foot as Stipe, or anyone who can string together combos with a probable hand speed advantage. Browne has horrible boxing and relies on kicks and Fabricio broke his rib with a body kick early in the fight. Hunt was a short notice fight and embraced being in Werdum's guard the entirety of round one and then was gassed. But even if that wasn't the case, hes a flat footed striker who relies on timing one monstrous blow.

Looking over Werdum's record, its been years since hes fought anyone even close to this type of style. I don't think i'd even count Reem as a similar fight.

I don't think there are many heavyweights with that type of style honestly. Stipe's style is interesting because he can move around on his feet a lot if he's comfortable standing but he can always wrestle if prefers it on the ground.

I look at it this way - Stipe has to execute a really solid gameplan, likely for 25 minutes, to get a win here. Werdum can finish standing, finish on the ground, and also land from a distance to get rounds for a decision. Werdum just has so many more ways to win this.
