UFC 197 Free Fight: Cormier vs Johnson

Man, what a wild fight this was. Thought Johnson had Cormier in the first after he landed that monsterous right hand but then DC recovered and slowly took control of the fight. Was really dissapointed in how wild and sloppy Anthony was after the first, only threw power shots and ended up gassing. Maybe he will be more energy efficient in a rematch.

I know alot of people find this type of grinding fighting style boring but I love watching someone slowly get their will broken. People like Dan, Maia, Couture, khabib, etc just bring a smile to my heart.

Much more of a Rumble fan and wanted him to stay composed and take the belt. But DC is from LA and I'm supposed to support hometown guy. Guess it was a win/win.

That punch that Rumble landed and that knee that Gus landed soften DC up enough for Jones to finish him this time.

Anthony fought so sloppy and full of emotion in that fight. he's usually much more composed. I'd like to see him get another shot.

Still it was vintage Crumble after the going got tough. Hes a frontrunner with no heart and his cardio sapped as his confidence waned

Cormier is one of the best p4p fighters on the planet. Cormier ate some big shots from the scariest striker in the entire UFC. Dude has a hell of a chin too. His grinding style is brutal.

But seeing what Cormier did to Rumble in this fight just shows you how great Jon Jones really is.

Styles.

Jones couldn't grind Rumble like that, his wrestling isn't the same style for it. It would be a much harder fight for Jones than Cormier.

DC won the fight but lost the war. He took A LOT of damage/punishment in that bout -- guess he wanted it (the title and rematch with Jones) more than Rumble. One thing is for sure both DC's heart and chin are Godly.
