UFC 187 - Best Card Since...

Immediately stopped reading after this, I could feel my brain cells dying.

And thanks for letting me know never to read any of your posts ever again, due to the high chance they might be as equally shitty as this one.
Fighters at 205 wouldn't beat fighters at 145? That means it's a more prestigious belt. Ultimately Cain would beat everyone, so he is the true champion, because he is the best of the best. That means that belt holds greater significance. I don't see how that's terribly difficult to understand.

UFC 92 was fucking sick.

Jones, Cormier and probably Rumble would beat Cain so no.

Not even close. McGregor is the only thing that makes the cards even remotely comparable. Fighters at 205 would slaughter guys at 145, so that title is more important. And Weidman/Vitor would smoke Lawler/Rory, so again that makes that title more significant. Then Arlovski/Browne is far more interesting than anything on 189. If Khabib didn't get hurt 187 would've absolutely DESTROYED 189.

So your opinion is that big fighters > smaller fighters

Well, at least you admit that.

Lol. Yeah good luck with that. Rumble beat Arlovski 29-28 in part due to the first round going beyond 5 minutes, and Cormier would have absolutely nothing for Cain. Cain literally beats him everywhere. Cain would ragdoll Jones.

Absolutely. It's not my opinion though, it's a fact. It's not a fact that everyone finds them more entertaining, I'm not saying that. But if Cain would beat Lawler, then yes, Cain > Lawler. Thus his title is more prestigious.

Uhh I should be excited about this card because apart from the title fights, it would've had a number one contender fight at 155? Would have had? That about the dumbest reasoning Ive ever heard. It's still a great card but it isnt great because it would have had some fights that are now no longer happening

The HW division is a joke. We have Andrei Arlovski who is 1 fight away from a title shot. I'm a big fan of Arlovski but this is 2015, not 2005. Is that more prestigious than being champion in a talent-heavy division such as LW or FW?

To you, maybe it is. To me, it's not.

Well now we're getting into which division has the most depth, that's a little different than my original point. No question HW doesn't have the most talent, so I'm certainly not going to even attempt to say it does. But is it more impressive to be the champ at 155 say, which has a deeper talent pool, than the champ at HW, when the champ at HW would destroy the champ at 155? Depends on how you look at it I guess. To me, ultimately the guy who would win the fight is the better fighter, thus his belt holds more significance.

Fair enough. But at the same time, aren't exciting fights exciting regardless of the weight class? Sure, some HWs would kill some FWs - but FW is the more exciting division based on quality of fights (in my opinion, of course - and you are welcome to disagree) - and given the depth of talent at FW and LW and even WW, to me, being champ in those divisions is more prestigious since it requires more talent.

It really comes down to differences of preference.

Yeah I think a lot of people share that opinion. And admittedly that Aldo-McGregor fight is about as interesting to me as they come, even though it's obviously at 145.
