Tyron Woodley: I'm Training Mayweather ... For MMA Fight!

Wouldn't be surprised if Floyd teaches the Champ a thing or two as well.

Real talk, if Mayweather had decided to start MMA when he was like 25, he'd be a monster. I could see him fucking shit up at 135.

He’s not going into the cage at all. It’s publicity. He is 41 years of age. He has never fought a professional MMA fight in his life. He would get fucking killed in there. Don’t buy into bullshit people say in the media. Conor could literally murder him in there. This is not happening.
He has a better chance against conor then lots of guys that's for sure but yea I don't think he's getting in there either. Even if he does a bit of training

This
I bet its 95% defensive & working on angles

It'd have to be. You don't just start using high tier MMA grappling much less learning it vs. high tier MMA fighters when you're over 40. I know people like to throw shade at that rumored CM Punk fight, but Punk could sub Floyd. He was blue belt level back in 2012, and I wouldn't imagine his BJJ got worse even though Gall stomped him.

Takes years to be a competent grappler, he’ll look like Punk did unless he fights another absolute novice

lol, is that how all the fights you've been in have gone? One leg kick immediately and then done? I've only seen 1 guy throw a leg kick in a street fight - and that was online, never in real life. And that guy was an mma fighter lol (the one who dresses up like a superhero).

I'm not trying to be an ass but it brought a funny image to mind.

lol a fight between an elite champion mma fight vs an elite ATG boxer is not the same as a streetfight. Leg kicks almost never happen in a street fight because not often do highly trained mma fighters get in streetfights.

There zero doubt in my mind if/when Floyd eats a leg kick he will quit. If he gets lucky enough to fight CM Punk he wont have to worry about that though. CM punk has the training and athletic ability of a sponge.

you actually like the dude but are exaggerating every possible reason to dislike him?

interesting.
Yeah.

Liking a guy=/=finding no faults or nuthugging.

I don't mind the guy but I feel he's grasping at straws too much of the time. It's plain to see and annoying as fuck.

yo I bet Mayweather would beat the brakes off CM Punk! Make it Happen Dana!

Lol I hear ya. I think it was just the phrase "has never been in a fight' that made me think of a street fight and brought the image to mind

It can easily happen
Co-pro with Floyd
Pricing the PPV higher
Adding additional sponsors & tie-ins

a 3m PPV at $79 brings in $150+m just in PPV
That could pay Floyd $50m, Conor $50m & UFC the rest
Floyd has boxed for less than that

Trying to figure out the logistics of it it’s not worth it in the long run. Allowing him to box in the first place has turned into a complete nightmare for the UFC. Their biggest superstar of all time has been sitting on the sidelines for more than one year holding out. Not exactly good for business. The ppv continues to be in the toilet. Floyd can come along and do one fight. But it’s only one fight. They need to think long term. They need to get their biggest star back fighting. Not a one and done. He needs to get back and be active.

The plan is to do less PPV yearly, but bigger ones
It actually fits in

I don't see how a Mayweather/Conor UFC fight can be viewed as anything but a positive

As far as "PPV in the toilet", that toilet still has a lot of money in it (lol).
less than other years, but it is not like PPV is a losing entity for UFC

Their problem is they can’t get McGregor their biggest star of all Time to get back in there and fight consistently again. Another one off with Floyd makes him an incredible amount of money. And he will sit on the sidelines again. And not fight. That’s bad for business.

It isn't bad for business at all
They had a killer profit year without him in 2017 - even taking MayMac out of it.
If Conor fights Floyd 1x in 2018 (big IF) they will make what they would have made if Conor fought 2x & that is far from a guarantee.

Great now that mayweathers done stinking up boxing with his sparring sessions fights now he'll stink up mma with what will somehow still be a boring ass fight
yup pretty much more of this shit here

You can’t drink so much Dana White Kool-Aid. Trust me they did not have a good year. Look at the numbers of the events. Without their biggest star they can’t sell. And Jones is done maybe for good. GSP came back and for once. They have no stars. Look at all of the divisions and tell me who is a big star? There isnt anyone. Nobody is selling fights.

LoL
I'm not drinking anything from Dana
They had their biggest profit year in history & UFC is worth $5b (as of Sept)

So sorry, I can't trust you on this since I know the business side of MMA & versed in it
