Typical Sherdog regarding Michael Bisping

People on these boards treated him like a can before the rematch with Rockhold, now people acting as if he's on a whole other level now. I am by no means a fan of Bisping or Rockhold, but I am glad he touched UFC gold now.

You're only as good as your last fight on Sherdog. Fairweather fans plague this place. That being said, the UFC doesn't give a fuck about rankings so I hope Hendo gets the fight and H-Bombs Bisping again and rides off into the sunset as a champ.

But there's no need to get it twisted. Bisping is still Bisping. He's better than almost all of the MWs, just like he always has been.

He was never a can, a top 10\5 fighter in the UFC is fucking world class, he was a gatekeeper though and the majority never thought he could touch that belt, me included.
The most surprising thing about Bisping is is evolution at 37 years old, dude looks way better on the feet, great boxing, excelente footwork and angles, this Rockhold fight was incredible comparing to their first bout 2 years ago.
Anyone who says Michael is a can are in the same level of "Fedor overrated", "Jones only wins because he is at LHW" etc

To be fair there was a lot of support for Bisping before the fight. Multiple warwagon threads, people hoping he gets the title in general, etc.

People with brain damage, will ignore Hendo. Bisping has done great, but by no means, he is the best or even close to that...in his division.

Most people here peg Bisping as one of the most beatable champs for the top 10.

Anyways, it really isn't about Bisping ascending as much at is Hendo's decline. You slug it out with him(like an idiot) and you have a good chance to get your lights turned out. Use movement, angles, and pick your shots and it's Hendo shuffling slowly around the cage trying to land the right hand or the leg kick(which is only thrown by him to set up the H-bomb).

It doesn't mean it's impossible to win but it makes even farther from some "must see" fight that should have Dan leapfrog everybody in alot of fans' minds. Nostalgia trips are nice and all but as a fan I thought Lombard already was the perfect send off with a wild shootout and creative KO.

I'm not sure who you are talking about but I've always regarded Bisping as sub-top 5, not quite elite. Personally theres a part of me that respects him and likes the idea of so much hard work and persistence being rewarded but I still think hes a major dick and will get knocked off the mountain soon. The fact that he's playing these games with who he should face just feeds into my dislike of him. It's like he's knows he won't have a significant run and he's trying to milk it for all he can.

Yeah, it seems many people became Bisping fans overnight (more than likely most are just Rockhold haters though, and will be back to rooting against Bisping next time around)

The rest are still saying he doesn't have a chance against anyone, even though they were saying the same thing before he beat Anderson and again before he beat Rockhold. I saw one idiot yesterday say the only guy Bisping has a chance to keep his belt against is Chris Camozzi.
