To prevent bot-jacking accounts that can do disruptive activities would be my guess. Not only do some posters exchange personal data (I know it's not a good idea and I don't do it, but some people obviously do), but preventing fake accounts, message spamming and such I assume is being recommended for the future smooth running of the board. Though I'm only speculating, I'm not an expert.
 
Does one have to perform this function every time you log onto post or is it a one time thing to verify your identity?
 
Honestly, the internet is filled with losers spamming stupid shit all the time. If something as minor as this chases people away, I doubt it's much of a loss. I think I prefer members willing to go through this tiny extra hula-hoop. It's like minimum post requirements for some forums to keep the riff-raff out.

Seems monthly is the current default. I don't know for sure though. @Slobodan would know as he's in charge, that's what @isa mentioned, and no way he would be lying.

Now is it going to prompt me every day ? Bc that’s a bit much. I’m gonna be here anyway. Already bought my plats. Not gonna waste that 30 bucks ! ;)

Its every 30 days and then you need to get another code via your email.
Its a security thing, and something prompt it to happen asap,
And yes people do hack stuff even a karate forum.
There has been several old account suddenly show up and post links to different shit (the bad kind of shit)
I noticed this happening quite a lot the last few months.
