Two steps verification on Sherdog WTF??

did you find them after you chose to enable and then you had three options one of which were backup codes?
Someting like that yeah, been a few hours now so I’m not certain on that front,
I think @Gio mentioned a way to get more backups codes if You need though .

I talked about exclusively only using the backup codes yesterday so maybe they scrapped that option for me now lol

Ah I see, I don’t actually see how that would be a problem if you could just keep auto-generating them, but then I also don’t really see the point of that either? There must be a reason not to lol

Sherdog dying confirmed!

I don’t understand the recent changes. I’ve been coming on significantly less since they did the update months ago that made the site damn near unusable.

No idea what my 2012 email was lmao
Can find it if you click on your username and go in account details, can change it if you need to.

That’s it eff off . I tried my best ya bum.
Edit - senile old bum. I’m confident that’s you in the pic.
If you only knew who was in the pic, you wouldn‘t write that, given your attempts to sound refined.

BTW I did it, not out of compliance, but just not to have to read your cheap, airport shop philosophy again.

Given the clout and prestige I enjoy here without even trying, unlike you, other fellow old timers will follow. So be proud to have saved this shithole.

Oh and change your av and username it‘s unbearable.

I don’t get it. Why do I need be forced to use the 2FA again? Because Xenforo ”strongly recommended it”? That’s not a reason.

I used to use reddit with a 3rd party made app, it was great. They (reddit) shut down the API so no one could use those 3rd party apps anymore and everyone would have to use reddit’s own app, so I quit reddit for good. I used it for 10+ years or so, never logged back in.

Keep making questionable decisions with the forum and I might make one, too.

The wi-fis pretty good in that hospice then, old man?

<YeahOKJen> right rebel you are, theyll write stories.

Many times when I've gone on this website it tells me that the connection is not secure so I don't trust anything u guys tell me

I authenticated already but I tend to agree with you and don't like the general dismissiveness from the Mods and Admins about people voicing concern. There's people who have had 23 year old accounts on here, so many people with dead emails (shit mine was). Beyond this, making a forum modern is just called Reddit...the way you keep things like Sherdog around is by keeping it semi untouched, it's a relic of the past for people to enjoy and also for new people to discover because keeping it untouched makes it distinct in it's existence and little subculture...which makes it something new and gravitational for people who end up getting exposed to it as opposed to something like Reddit or what-the-fuck-ever.

This will undeniably push people away, the UFC foreigns died when they changed them, the UG died when they tried to change them, Tapology as a forum was never big but it's basically dead now too. Sherdog is it besides Reddit. Having some amount of anonymity has always been a charm of forums too, I'm sure you can say we will still have it but adding these extra verification steps does put it into question a bit.

Exactly this. Very good viewpoint. @Kowboy On Sherdog @JayPettryMMA
I think something like that happened around 18 years ago, thats where I lost my first account from 2005. But im not sure if that was some change or a hack, but I guess a change because I see accounts older than that.

In general I have seen some strange stuff over the last 1-2 years. You see old and inactive accounts come back online and most of them had the same agenda. It seemed like one group on the dawg has somehow hacked old accouts and uses their "reputation" to push their topics and agenda. Ive discussed that already in the DMs with other users and we all agree that there is something going on.
If thats the concern... Honestly, who gives a fuck? You can quickly see, and filter out which is spam to sell shit or whatever has an actual effect.
I get protecting accounts when you deal with money or personal social media accounts but protecting my forum posting account about MMA? Maybe force that on a mod account since you can probably damage the site with access to their account.

Seems unnecessary for a standard account
For real. It doesnt fucking matter.

Thinking this wont have a massive effect on viewership on this site is a ludacris take. Following that, you will gain much less ad revenue, and more people will slowly leave the site. Youre really fucking up here.

the only places on the internet now that is mandatory to have a 2FA authenticator are crypto exchanges and sherdog forum lol
^ Please understand how little sense this makes.

I've set it up on mine, if anyone needs any help or support in getting it working just reply or message me privately.

Hope we don't lose some of our long time members!

Oh we will, and have.

I think it's ironic that the karate forum that holds very little PII/PI per user has implemented MFA without an opt-out when a good number of places protecting accounts with far more PII/PI (banks, health plan portals, etc) make MFA optional.

The fact that I now need a third party app to read stupid posts about MMA is annoying, I'm flat tired of companies telling me what I must have on my device, esp when none of them use the same platforms. I've got like 7 separate authenticator apps now, it's insane.

Apart from the (purely negative, we'll see how bad) affect on the user experience (for no worthwhile benefit that I can discern), I predict this will crater new registrations, taking the (possibly quite fast) road to Unstoppable Forum Death™.

The last months I seen a lot of old accounts with no post or few getting banned.
At times (on the whois online list) I could see 3-4 banned accounts.
One poster claimed he have seen some of these accounts posts links to what he called "no no porn",
A wild stab in the dark for me is it was not adults in the pics....
That would to me explain why this was done and really fast.

How ever this is just me guessing and taking another posters word for what he saw.
