Television TV shows with no likable characters

Yeah there are a few of these.

I hated everyone on Vikings and couldn't tolerate it.

About 6 months ago I got recommended some Aussie series, I think it was called 'Tangle'. It rates well, had some names in it...
I lasted an episode and a half. Every character was a fuckwit doing dumb shit. Totally unlikeable

Mad Men and nothing else really comes close. All the characters ended up being throughly broken jerks.

Still the best written and rewatchable show of all time for me.

I feel like he's missing what the Supranos was doing as well, it deliberately uses the smaller more petty soap stuff to undercut a lot of the typical "mafia dignity" we see in other media showing these people dealing with smaller scale situations in which stupidity and blind luck are often big factors but there is always the larger drama about moral decline behind it.

It did I think mean as well that characters weren't just unpleasant all the time.

I get what you're saying. It usually takes a new dramatic show a couple of seasons for the cast and writers to find their stride. But this show was so soap opera, that I couldn't watch past the first season.

I've found that a show works best when it's got a defined timeline. Several shows were planned with a 5-year run in mind. This allows the writer(s) to develop an overall story arc with occasional forays into smaller sub-arcs and stand-alone episodes. Among these were Farscape, Babylon 5, Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. Of these, Farscape was by far, the best due to its creative storytelling.

David Chase said he ended the Sopranos in season six because he felt the story had run its course. He said that he wanted to end it after the second season, but the ratings and money kept him doing it.

One of the things I absolutely hated were the contrived, cliche mafia types. Just look at the publicity photo below. It just screams, "cringe."

The guy below was the worst cliche, right down to the greying temples and erect pinky finger with ring.

GOAT show

Everyone was a piece of shit, but still likable in their own way.

From. Pretty good show but 99% of all the characters are annoying ASF and unlikable

Every for months my wife and I try a new show and all the characters are unlikable. Doesn’t matter if the story or directing is good. I cannot enjoy a show with everyone asshole.
White lotus, perfect couple ,

Apple p cider vinegar

I was thoroughly unimpressed by White Lotus.

Found it quite forgettable. All the excitement of plain yogurt
Jennifer Coolidge played a rich lazy spoiled brat and there was a cute chick with medium boobs who had the same hair color and complexion as my wife.
Someone got killed and by the time they got around to the "climax" of the story I just didn't care anymore.
