TV purchase help

I always have issues getting a TV because they don't all come with a variety of ways to connect devices anymore. So to find a TV with all the proper AV inputs for my vintage gaming systems is always a pain. I recently got a 55 LG that had it all tho. Before that, i would always buy Samsungs. The other thing is I need USB readers that can read most Portable Drives for the shows and movies I have downloaded.
Whether or not the portable drive is readable has to do with if it was formatted a certain way. I know exFAT can be read by PC and Mac, so best to check the user manual to see what format is needs.

Also, I am needing more than just 3 HDMI ports. I still use PS3, PS4, now got PS5, Apple TV, and sometimes use TV for extra computer monitor.

Why 50 btw? Why not larger? Nobody ever said "dang....wish I got the smaller TV". But plenty people have said "dang....wish I would have paid a bit more for the larger TV". Unless it's in your bedroom or something and not a living room TV.
It's a bedroom and I already have an older 50 there I'm replacing.

Here you have the DVD/VHS combo, which is pretty hard to beat, IMO
WHAT? I knew technology had come far.. but never thought it would get this far!!

I just bought a Sony X90j 65" for $1300 at Best Buy and I absolutely love it. 4K 120hz. The UI is fantastic with YouTubetv and everyother app. It blends all your streaming services into one seamless interface. I'm sure they all do that by now but the way Sony's does it is really slick. It looks fantastic too

Motherfuck me it's already gone down $100

I think that's the exact same TV I got!

So I have an older Sony 4k TV (2018 I believe)
One of the complaints is the sluggish interface.
I found this tip several years and it makes it feels much snappier if it starts to slow down.
See if it helps speed things up.

I'm about to move and I want to buy a new tv. I'm looking for a 4k 120hz that won't break the bank. Probably around 50 inches. Anyone have good suggestions?
The best way to answer this question is to give a target price.

If you tell us you don't want to spend more than $500 there's a batch of tvs to recommend. If you say no more than $1500 then that changes everything.

Otherwise this is a thread where people will tell you to buy what they own.

Can’t you just use the coax hookup? I connected my NES to my current TV before like that. The trick is you have to turn it on any then scan for channels.

I prefer to use A/V out of my Vintage Top Loader NES system (rather than the original toaster style OG Consoles). With the A/V option, i run a L/R Mono into my sound System seperately rather than into the TV (or PA when we set up in the Studio to play) so i can blast the sound properly in all its 8 bit glory!!!!

Not all the time. Some TV brands have not updated their software to read drives of certain sizes as well. Which is why, i take my drive with me to test on TVs to make sure they can properly read the data that is on it. Vizios always have the hardest time reading drives. The last time I checked a Samsung TV, it would not read drives that were larger than 1.5 TB. I typically keep videos on 2 TB drives (which is why I got the LG)

I've had bad luck with Samsung TVs. Two of them went out after a year. Didn't get the extended warranty. I like all their other products though. I think it's just the luck of the draw regardless of manufacturer.
What the hell

Get a cheap one so when your wife breaks it over nothing you won’t feel so bad.

Makes sense. I'd think about a larger one if you are ever going to use it anywhere else but ya. If it's too big and you are too close you might get motion sickness ;) or it sucks for movies and games b/c you can't really take inthe whole screen, you have to look and scan around the whole thing

I'm out of likes, but thanks man!

LG 55" OLED C1
Thats what you need.
Got the OLED LG 55 GX Gallery series in bedroom. Solid TV. All 3 OLEDs in House &Condo are LG, dunno if LG > Samsung or Sony… but dudes at the store & contractor/architects prefer LG over Samsung.

We have 4 Samsung TVs, never an issue with any. Have 24", 45", 55" and a 65". All smart TVs. Amazon should have some good deals, this being black friday week.
