So is this effectively propaganda via editing? It seems that even if he is misrepresented he said enough for it to be newsworthy/threadworthy.

Furthermore, first, the study doesn't contradict that Assad could have done it; second, it was predicated on the assumption that the payloads were 50 gallons, but first, there isn't indepedent consensus on that (nor could it be possible due to the fact that they're estimating via photographic evidence of rocket remains, and most seem to think 16-18 gallons more realistic), and even if their payload were true, then it would only further reinforce the indication that it was Assad due to sheer volume. Even Higgins- who adjusted his estimated range to 2.5km- maintains with a high confidence (and he is very reserved about expressing confidence) that Assad did the deed.

Entertaining conspiracy theories about Turkey is no more substantive than speculating that (adjusting the narrative to fit that report's assumptions) that Assad sent a covert op into enemy territory to fire from within it so that the rebels would take the fall for his international crime. That's the problem with thinking like a conspiracy theorist.

Assad implicitly admitted that he did it to Charlie Rose for all the world to hear. It amazes me that CT's like this persist.
