The Trump administration is planning to ease fears of a trade war by announcing later Tuesday billions of dollars in aid to farmers hurt by tariffs, according to two sources familiar with the plan.

The administration's plan will use two commodity support programs in the farm bill, as well as the Agriculture Department’s broad authority to stabilize the agricultural economy during times of turmoil.

Its becoming clearer how this guy bankrupted a casino.

WSJ has it at $12 billion.

Would any of the Trump supporters explain to a "cuckservative" like me exactly what about these economic policies and strategies is conservative?

None of it, and part of the deal will be using poison from monsanto and others.

Obama left him a booming economy and Dum Dum Donny is doing everything he can to fuck it up.

To put our recent economic policy into terms that illustrate the folly.

1) Dramatically cut revenue but promise to make it up with economic growth.
2) Sabotage that economic growth by starting a trade war with our allies and our enemies.
3) Allocate billions from that reduced revenue (See #1) to Americans to offset the economic loss they'll suffer from the trade war (See #2).
4-9) ??????
10) Profit.

So much winning!!!!! I can't handle it!!!!

It isn't. We'll have to see if it's actually the case or another "Trump plans to ____, according to an unnamed source". If it is true, it's a shitty idea.

You know if this is the card that his supporters are leading with that this is a hard to defend position.

i don't know how it works, but by farmers i understand some dude and his wife and kid taking care of their farm in order to make a living. it doesnt mean some gigantic company that takes care of a million head of cattle.

also, all the stuff i've seen from farmers being interviewed, it always looks like they're constantly barely making ends meet

Fuck small family farmers. It's a dead market we've been subsidizing for decades because Republicans need the votes.

It's not the Federal government's responsibility to maintain outdated markets.

I'll have to see all of the details of the offical plan first before I can give any kind of useful analysis.

Always keep in mind that Dr. Earl Butts's cheap food policy has been the dirty little secret of America's economic success for the past 40 years.

You braindead conservatives are constantly screeching about Socialism, well here its, lets hear the outrage.

Well yeah let's not forget about Dr. Butts

Farmers = welfare queens.

To be fair large farms get most of the government money. They are also the ones driving up the cost of farming as well as the cost of farm land.
