It doesn't take much to play you.
Sweeeereet comeback!!!

Nah. Stop telling me what I would or wouldn’t care about. I’ll tel you this. If obama did it and it had a negative impact on my life...I’d care a lot.
But if true you are the rare exception from millions of republicans who only care about debt when a black democrat is in the the Whitehouse. I commend you for your consistency.
If you can't tell the difference between the prosecutors and the judges I feel sorry for you.
This is pretty sad, but so many people believe it. Carter did all of the work and made the deal that freed them. Unless you believe the October Surprise theory, which may be true, in which case it's far worse to big up Reagan. Also, Iran hostages
Way I remember it was, Carter (a well meaning, highly intelligent Annapolis graduate with a nuclear physics degree, with a big heart and who has been a fantastic elder Statesman) authorized the failed mission to free them, and suddenly they were freed. This is pretty sad, but so many people believe it. Carter froze assets and then made the deal (see Algiers Accords), and his guy was doing the legwork (Warren Christopher). I mean, they were released at almost the last literal minute of Carter's presidency. He worked hard to get it done before he left office, and obviously he didn't think it was right to leave the new president such a crisis. I don't see how Reagan has any claim to any credit here. Unless, like I mentioned, he interfered with negotiations before the election, which would be nasty and treasonous, but definitely in Reagan's wheelhouse.Way I remember it was, Carter (a well meaning, highly intelligent Annapolis graduate with a nuclear physics degree, with a big heart and who has been a fantastic elder Statesman) authorized the failed mission to free them, and suddenly they were freed.
Elaborate, if you must continue to separate me from cherished notions.
Dick.
Cease, desist your efforts to disabuse me of comforting untruths.Carter froze assets and then made the deal (see Algiers Accords), and his guy was doing the legwork (Warren Christopher). Ya gotta have a common man backstory. It's kind of funny how Carter was able to sell himself as an "aww shucks" peanut farmer.

W was a Yale and Harvard Business grad from a wealthy family who sold himself effectively as an "aww shucks" cowboy.
I think the ‘aww shucks’ came about by watching his speeches. Probably not an image anyone would want.I recall GWB being sold in 2000 as a military fighter pilot (lol) former beloved and super-effective governor and hard-working, successful owner of the Texas Rangers.
