Can’t back up your claim , shocking …
It was such an obvious question I assumed you were joking, especially in this moment.
Trump named the people he was going to go after. After Colbert was fired, Trump named Kimmel and others. Trump's FCC targeted Kimmel and publicly said if he wasn't dealt with, the FCC would have to show they "the hard way". Kimmel was suspended. When the backlash was enormous and Kimmel was reinstated, Trump was pissed and gloated about how much he'd taken ABC for the first time and wondered how much he could take this time.
Brendan Carr is set to appear before the Senate Commerce Committee to answer for what he did. My hopes are not high, these committees never do anything, but the fact one was even called in these days of Trump was almost as surprising as Cruz denouncing the extortion publicly.
@Confucamus said in this thread nobody ever mentions these big mergers we talk about, do you guys never actually watch regular news? Are you not aware of Skydance and Paramount?
I have mixed feelings about these mergers. On one hand I don't think they should happen because consolidating gives them too much power and raises prices, but if they aren't approved it should be for that reason and not a corrupt administration. Contrary to popular opinion I have no love for Disney, either, for similar reasons.
