He is probably worth around 1-3 billion, so in the worst case scenario he actually lost money IIRC taking inflation into account. That's terrible. To be fair, he had a great run in the late 80s but he crashed in the 90s and recovered somewhat as a reality show celebrity. His real strength is TV, not real estate.

You do realize that unlike the Gates FOundation or others this Foundation has none of Trump's money in it. It is all third party donations given for various represented charitable ends and its now pretty clear that much of it has been diverted to support Trump family business and personal interests.

So sure you can point to them spending 5% or 10% or even 80% on some charity stuff but that does not give them a pass to keep the other 95%, 90% or 20%.

IF I raise $100MM for charity and keep a large percent for myself but try to point to the good things I did with the rest, that is no cover or excuse.

Imagine the man who runs the country has been told he cannot have any involvement with any charities in NYC for at least 10 years as he cannot be trusted with others money. Imagine that guy who cannot be trusted to run a charity is the US POTUS.
