i don't know who that guy is or his background. looked like your every day normal chud just putting on his daily victim complex in front of the cameras. how dare they execute a lawful search warrant and take my precious peanut away....he had nearly a hundred gazillion followers on youtube!

did he have a licensed facility and was he permitted to rehab those specific animals? obviously there was some kind of issues with him being allowed to keep the animal and he was being defiant, which is why it got to the point where law enforcement had to get involved.

if you take wild animals just to keep it as a pet, especially at a young age when they will imprint on you, odds are that they become too accustomed to relying on humans to eat and survive, and they will not be able to be released into the wild because they will not be able to survive on their own. often these animals will have to be destroyed. it's just a sad fact of life.

not saying that's what happened here, but it seems likely. you're not supposed to keep those animals as pets. i guess if you've got a rehab center and there's nothing really wrong with the animal and it's not sick or injured and you still want to keep it as a pet because you're attached to it, you can always apply to keep it as an education animal. just explain that it's imprinted on you and probably will not survive if released in the wild, and as long as you have a dedicated enclosed space for that animal and you don't have a history of malpractice and shit, and you're not hoarding a whole bunch of other "education animals" on your premesis then odds are they might let you keep that squirrel. but there is no real reason to keep a perfeclty healthy squirrel as a pet and shit. in a couple states it might be tolerated, but in most states you're not really supposed to do that.
