I deal with cyber/ intel been in and out of the Middle East for 10 years, if you actually paid attention to this board you know I've had discussions with people about this. What does that got to do with this thread ? Or you just trying to get the certified the worst poster of the year award.

Funny back around 25 years ago I helped a friend run a internet phone service from Morocco that serviced the middle east. I never traveled out there I just helped him with his networks and server farm. I used to build server racks that got shipped out to Morocco. But I then became a consultant to a company that serviced the storage farms for a big Australia based telco telstra australia. They had millions of equipment I used to have to support. Back then it was limited due to the technology at the time.

You would pre build racks and ship them out? did you have to do the configs on routers, switches (if they were used) and OS like Win 2k/ 2008? or was it just assembly .

Yep setup the Routers/Switches, servers with Window NT and PC with Windows 95 and later with Windows 2000, Red Hat Linux and Slackware Linux for firewalls. It largely dependent on what they could support on their end so we had to make due with whatever they wanted. I used to build the servers using supermicro motherboards or ASUS motherboards, SCSI controllers, 8 channel ethernet PCI cards, SCSI drives with mirroring, It's been years since I worked in that area.

Based on this very non bias accounting the areas that could continue to see more growth is in services industries such as working at McDonald's wages are lower and still require some form of direct interaction not easily replaced by a robot or autonomation. People tend to be repulsed by automation see cashiers at Walmart and photos of people protesting the use of cashierless registers.

That's impressive a lot of hats you're wearing there. Things were a lot simpler then also. I remember using null sessions via $IPC/ SMB to move around in labs for "hack the box" back then Windows 98/ME.

But with all that I say simple maybe is the wrong word, because google wasn't what it is now, looking on how to figure out answers with issues. Obviously no YouTube and what you found in AskJeeves was not the best.

I used to also work a regular job for EMC and was one of their first employees and when they were bringing more engineers they decided to move to Sun Microsystems Unix boxes as the new engineers where trained on that for circuit board design. I was assigned the task to make PC look like Unix boxes by setting up Slackware on a single pc and then configure 24 PCs with X windows running on windows. I was given that task as I had the most experience using Linux in my area. They could learn how to work with shell scripting and launching applications within X Windows. I had a lot of Unix experience and C/C++ programming experience been years since that time. I have 4 Sun 4000 enterprise boxes in my basement whenever I feel the need to laugh at my past.
