Trump is an idiot....he should let his coon Ben Carson take care of this. even fox news usually invite a coon when they are about to go in against a black person. Thats what tokens are for

Sick of Sherdog brah?

He's not wrong. But as others have said, as long as it's still worth $20 it doesn't matter.

You can do both- recognize that given the state of the US that this is a decision based on political correctness, and you can also be indifferent or in favour of the change.

Or you can stand for what you believe and stop using 20 dollar notes to send a message

Sure, if that's what you feel, but simply recognizing that this is a political move doesn't reflect whether you perceive this as positive or negative.

I don't personally care who is on the currency, but I recognize that Tubman is not an arbitrary selection.

So you don't believe that she is an important figure of real historical relevance to the United States?

It's hilarious how the supposed anti-PC crowd is butthurt over something that is essentially inconsequential. Cash is no longer king unless you're putting it in a stripper's asscrack, snorting coke, copping da chronic, or you're a degenerate who can't open a bank account.

When is the last time any of you gave a single fuck who was on the bills of the $ that you earned or spent? It only matters when the face is associated with the denomination. All about the Benjamins, amirite?

Doesn't this objection go both ways, though?

If it was inconsequential and everyone was indifferent, there would have been no change to begin with.

I'm very anti PC, and do see this as, at least somewhat, pandering. But I also don't have a huge problem with it.

oh I believe she was.....but lets be honest. White America is never comfortable with black people who were significant in their time fighting injustice against black people. So to even talk about her or history makes some of them uncomfortable. I think she deserves it, but most sane people couldnt care less which person is in any of the notes. But from political point of view its interesting Trump takes this stance which is play hard on the white people card and give up on black people

Ok. The powers that be may be pandering. They saw 6 white male historical figures, and decided to replace one with a woman. I give zero fucks which historical figure they place on bills because it still spends the same. It's money, not a national monument.

It's the reaction to inconsequential change that I'm speaking of. Aren't the overblown reactions the drive of PC culture?

It is inconsequential to me as well, but it's hard to think this was a random choice given that it's a black female. All that's missing is a gay figure, and they're all set.

Or how about a Native American figure to give a nod to the people that once inhabited this land?

They might get a coin.

They might get a coin.

I'd be alright with that.

The point is that you can't please every group all the time. I don't like the idea of every demographic being equally represented at all times in every arena. It's going to reach a point where everything is named after numbers and symbols so that no one is offended.

It is pandering imo. If we're going to have faces on our money it should be kept to presidents imo. When we start going the route of trying to highlight great historical figures for social justice you start to bring in issues of tokenism and political correctness that can cause division.

If tho I can't imagine anyone not respecting Harriet Tubman I still don't think our money should be platforms for political and social messages.
