True or False? MMA would not be mainstream if it wasn't for Dana White

I mean, there is always the possibility that someone better than Dana could have taken the sport to an even higher level, but that seems like a remote possibility. So, yeah, basically I would have to agree that Dana was crucial to taking the UFC into the mainstream. (Still needs to pay the fighters more though).

I'm no fan of White, his lies and hypocrisy, but I'd say yes. Many tried before and after him and everyone failed.

False. You lot give this fool way too much credit. Massive businesses don't hinge on the actions of one man, he's just the mouthpiece.

Do you believe it is because of Dana White that we get to watch MMA on ESPN and see fights almost on a weekly basis?

Would MMA as a sport have gotten this big without Dana White?
Bro, you are missing the big picture here. MMA being mainstream has nothing to do with Dana White, it's all because of the aliens. Yep, you heard me right, aliens. They have been watching our planet for years, just waiting for us to develop a combat sport that would entertain them. And when MMA came along, they were like "that's it, that's the one." So they made a deal with the powers that be and boom, suddenly MMA is everywhere. Sure, Dana White plays a part in it, but let's not forget the real reason for MMA's mainstream success - the extraterrestrial beings.

I think at one point when this was some small renegade sport he was instrumental in bringing attention to it and getting it into the public eye .
Now I actually think his behaviour is part of what’s holding it back and being taken more seriously

Let’s see how he manages his slap show.
Let’s see if it’s really Dana.

He did his thing and was an important piece of the puzzle but other things were even more crucial. The guy who came up with TUF idea was far more important and the bald goof was initially against it, without the show the ufc wouldn’t be here now. Lots of heads turned with Griffin vs Bonnar. Fuck, without Art Davie there would be none of this lol.

I think he certainly helped out and focused on expansion and cornering the market after the first season of TUF but at this point it's obvious he doesn't care as much, is completely in it for the money and needs to go.
