Now, I don't claim to be an expert on Canadian politics, but from my perspective, Harper was shit, so is Trudeau. It really is Bush vs Obama.

The whole Trudeau hate I see here, lacks credibility. Where were you folks when Harper was selling out your country, and selling a bootleg US version of partisan politics?

You Canadians seem bound and determined to follow in the failed footsteps of the US political system.

These empty partisan politics, built around false dichotomies are new to Canada.

Are you Canadians so eager to become as gridlocked, and corrupt as your neighbor to the South?

Discuss.......

Harper is much better than Bush, and Obama (I can't believe I'm saying this) is way better than Trudeau.

One simply cannot be more disgusting than Trudeau.

Not really. Our liberals and conservatives are pretty centrist. Our political system is pretty centrist. We have our left wingers (NDP) and we’ve had various versions of our right wingers (reform, wild rose).

Harper and Trudeau act like extreme examples of their ideologies but governance in Canada is pretty steady. Most people aren’t too extreme. Whoever our “deep state” is they keep things running smooth on a federal level. Provincial governments are a different story...

This, Harper is leagues better than Bush. Harper was intelligent, and not that bad. It was just time for the needle to shift back, and it happened to be Trudeau on the other side. I'm honestly very surprised he managed a majority, nothing I was reading indicated that. Comparing Harper or Obama to Bush is pretty insulting.

Sounds to me like you are rooting for your team, and rationalizing failure by your team.

Harper's coalition lost to Trudeau. Maybe if you concentrated on how your team, which is so obviously right and good, lost to this walking human feces, you would find that more productive than raging at the people you disagree with, for disagreeing with you.

In other words, clean your own backyard, before you bitch about how fucked up your neighbors yard is. I think you will find that you win yard of the year more often, if you maintain your own yard, instead of spending your time telling everyone how shitty your neighbors yard is.

Your central banks have been infiltrated since 2008.

That is what Canadians should be concerned about, because your new deep state, isn't the same people as your old deep state.

lol

A guy who invaded a country and caused the direct deaths of >200,000 civilians, helped topple the world economy, and sanctioned the contravention of multiple international laws on torture and due process. >>>>> a guy who says he's a feminist and flatters women and immigrants.

Truthfully the criticism of Trudeau from the left (hostility to unions, deregulation, obsequience to polluters, insufficiently graduated tax regime, hypocritical involvement in international war profiteering, supporting anti-BDS and free speech) versus the criticism of Trudeau from the right (omg he so weaaaaak, and cheesy, and he likes brown people!!!!!) speaks volumes of the differences between the sides. The right has become completely superficial, irrational, and identity-obsessed like a bunch of little kids.

Infiltrated by who? To what end? How does it affect me?

Infiltrated by those who have control of the Bank of International Settlements, the equivalent of the WTO for the world's central banks.

The people who prevented anyone going to jail in the US, for the largest theft in human history.

It matters to you, because the hand that gives, is always above the hand that recieves.

I’m not saying your wrong, because I have no clue, but it really sounds like this is some stuff I don’t care about at all because it’s so far outside of the realm of my reality and my sphere of influence that dedicating any time or energy to this would be a waste of the limited time I have.

And that is the greatest lie today. That we are powerless when it comes to real power.

Didn't you just advertise rational thinking and supporting the best candidates and policies over a 'team'. Easy there crazy.

Admits to not being an expert on Canadian politics, proceeds to lecture Canadians about Canadian politics.

So what is the solution? First I’d have to know a whole hell of a lot more to even figure out if you’re right and who you’re talking about etc. Then, if I was convinced you’re right, I’d have to weigh the value of the potential negatives vs my potential power to combat it vs the cost to my family/jobs/interests/quality of life. What do you do to combat these people?

I'm not offering any new ideas here, although I am sure they would seem new to the majority of people. The path to people power, is written in US, and Canadian history.

What prevents this is consensus.

What prevents consensus is education.

Crisis can be substituted for education to reach consensus, but it has much greater tail risk involved.

Pro-tip: no one is going to take you seriously if you are talking about a "deep state" of a country in which you do not live.

Why not?

Why would it exist in one place, and not another?

Systems, tend to produce systemic results.

Because it's a silly pseudo-concept. It's just a paranoid description of owners of capital.

That doesn’t really tell me anything. I think living a good life and being productive, and carrying yourself ethically and honestly through your life and job is about the best thing everyone can do. You seem like someone with an internal orientation towards Justice. I hope you put it to good use and do positive things in your community.
