I absolutely loved Age of Empires series and this game sort of reminds me of Age of Mythologies on roids. Would this be a correct assesment? If so I'm buy this!

No as age of mythology is kind of like Warcraft on roids whereas total war is its own (imo superior) thing. There's a campaign map and a battle map, and in the battle map the dead bodies (unlike in most shooters) don't disappear.

apparently its REALLY good according to people who already have it, and angry joe said it was good.

If Angry Joe says it's good then that's good news. His review for Total War: Rome 2 is priceless. It's worth watching if you want to see him review a disappointing game.

It's not like your normal RTS at all. I think it's a lot better, I love the Total War games. I can't tell you how pumped I am for this game. I never really watch much game footage, but i have watched almost every youtube the team has put up for this one

i thought age of empires online was amazing but the douchebags at Microsoft shut it down. No game was like it. Co-op campaign was so good :(

I'm not a PC gamer, can anyone recommend me some upgrades to play this game? My specs:

Processor
AMD A8-6600K APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics

Video Card
AMD Radeon HD 8570D

RAM
4.0 GB

Operating System
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (build 9600), 64-bit

Gonna need more memory, and better Video card, your cpu might be ok though

Anyone playing this?

I just started the campaign. I'm enjoying it so far.

I am. The actual battles are epic and they nailed the warhammer feel in it. I am disappointed with the overall campaign though, at least as Vampire Counts. It doesn't seem particularly well planned out. The diplomacy is also fucked, which is to be expected. Oh well, in a week or two modders will have it fixed.

I'm playing it and enjoying it. It's been a while since I've played a RTS game so I'm learning everything from the beginning. The Warhammer setting is really cool, although I wish I could zoom in and enjoy the action but I have to constantly be managing my troops and I don't think the combat is visceral enough.

Are you doing the epic quests along with the Campaign, I feel it added some depth as Mannfred, however as the Necromancer he didn't have as much as a place. I would agree it would be nice if it had a little more story. I also heard some of the map will be expanded upon when they release the other races (rumored as elves, skaven, and some others), would be fun to play skaven.

The epic like for his sword and armor? I was until it put the next point in the quest about a thousand miles away. For anyone playing though, you definitely need the mod that lets you take over any races settlements. I liked the idea at first, but in practice it pigeon holes you something fierce as Vampires.

I'm also really excited to see some of Warhammer's more unique armies come out in the future. Bring on the Tomb Kings, Lizardmen and Dark Elves!

Empire: I've just won the short campaign. Might just roll up the rest of the world because I'll win the long in about 10 turns.

Bitched Chaos.

The norsca regions are however attrition bullshit. You can't attack them effectively. Except via allies. I did burn most of their settlements.

This is not a RTS game.

You build and move on a turn map.

You don't build bases on the real time map.

It took me like 350 turns, but I finally beat the Grand Campaign with the Vampires! It's kind of annoying in the end game, it was decided about 100 turns earlier but the computer starts fighting a stalling battle

Dumbass dwarves and their grudges, cant wait to wipe them out.

The mod for occupying every settlement and the camera zoom in is nice. I'm sure more mods will keep coming out. I wonder if they will make a 40k mod or if it's possible.

I'm new to the whole lore part aside from Dawn of War back in the days. I'd really like to learn more about the universe, but not sure where to start and have been too lazy to read the books lol.

Man a decent game of thrones mod would be epic for total war

Probably just the internet. A lot of the lore for this game comes from some online campaigns they ran, Storm of Chaos and End times. The lore was always published in the rule books, so yeah the internet would be the place

Mods are making it a lot better, I'm going to try the one that slows down combat because the fights do end damn fast, I think it averages about 6 minutes for a big fight. The economy could probably use a rework. I also really, really hope they add in some of Warhammers more unique races not to far from now. I would love to see Lizardmen, Dark Elves and Tomb Kings tearing things up
