Top5 GOAT black HW's?

HM: Gary Goodridge & Gilbert Yvel

Also, Big Nog isnt black.

Really hard for me to accept that Lewis is better than a prime Yvel, but maybe nostalgia is clouding my judgment here.

Kinda goes to show that black HWs dont really have that great of a legacy in MMA

Who can blame them though? They've been way too busy the last several decades making great legacies in boxing, basketball, football, powerlifting, wrestling, baseball, etc

In all honesty though, The Reem and DC's legacies are especially impressive. Ngannou has the strongest potential to surpass both as long as he remains strong in his momentum, seizes the title and racks up impressive defenses.

Brock could have possibly done the same to Fedor in their primes, but that doesn't mean Brock is higher on the GOAT - list. So what's your point?

Brock gets submitted or swept and pounded on for the TKO or till he got rocked and submitted. Mir is dangerous off his back but he's not good at sweeping and sometimes traps himself on the ground(he even admitted he fucked up in the Brock rematch and trapped himself in half guard).

1. DC
2. Overeem
3. Randleman
4. Kongo
5. Not sure about this one, could be Yvel/Lewis/Ngannou

This is getting wastelanded but thanks for the laughs

I wasn't trying to knock black fighters, just saying that they dont have a particularly strong legacy in HW MMA which is surprising exactly because of their strong legacies in other sports.

Both DC and Overeem had great careers, as obviously did a lot of smaller black fighters such as Jones, Silva, etc.

Had to chuckle at the hilarious irony of how questioning if Big Nog counts as black sounds ignorant...and then again so does completely excluding him as such. Like most Brazilian nationals, The Nogs identify as Brazilian. But as far as ethnic classification goes, they're referred to in their native country as Pardo. Pardos are an admixture of Native Amerindian, African and Portuguese ancestry. So is Big Nog part black? More than likely. Does he identify as such? Maybe not.
