The reason Fedor is lagging is partly age, and partly because he hasn't trained like a fighter in a long time. If Anderson trained at Fedor's camp he'd still be getting flying scissored by Japanese cans. If you want a good laugh, look at a Fedor training camp post-PRIDE. Also Fedor fought in Noguiera's guard for probably close to an hour taking all 3 fights into account, and destroyed him, while Anderson Silva refused to grapple with guys like Leites. If Fedor implemented the Anderson Silva gameplan against Werdum, he would have won that bout easily.

Also Fedor's record isn't entirely cans, believe it or not. Just remove the cans from his record completely and you will get a better idea... It wasn't just Fedor that fought scrubs, this was PRIDE in general. Anderson also fought scrubs in PRIDE along with the legends like Sakurai, that's just how they did things over there.

Also staying undefeated at HW is somewhat more impressive than at other divisions, and what's more, not only did Fedor not lose a fight in a decade, he also didn't lose a SINGLE ROUND in a decade.

Georges St-Pierre is less of a spectacle but could be argued as the best? It's hard to say. He never seemed unstoppable, but he did go from being a karate fighter to being one of the greatest MMA wrestlers of all time, which is one of the most remarkable accomplishments in MMA.

I just don't give much weight to how bad he's doing in later years, be it age, lack of motivation/proper training, whatever

If you ask me if i think he's UFC level right now i will reply of course not, still what he did and how he performed in the past can't be changed by how he perform right now.

At some point and for some years, Fedor was the greatest HW MMA ever had

He can be round 1 KTFO'd by a LW nobody, for what i care

Fedor, Anderson, GSP, Jones, Aldo

Whatever happened during theyr career, I seen the best they offered and was enough to be there in my top5

I'm a fan of MMA and i don't see the point on dickride this or that hatetrain/trolltrain to downplay some fighter merits to make "my" fighter look better

I'm not a paid promoter and i'm not 10 years old

I'm not sure who is the GOAT, but ask any top fighter in the UFC and Fedor will be mentioned the most. Anderson Silva can get a pass due to his highlight reel, but between Fedor and Anderson, I give it to Fedor and contrary to popular belief, he has been tested for PEDs many times and passed. Anderson has lost to some subpar competition before, but if you fight you can lose to anybody and anyone who has ever fought knows this. This is really hard for me, watching Silva fight in his prime...absolutely awesome, but to go nearly a decade without a loss is amazing. He has already beaten 2 top ten UFC heavyweights, no decision he finished them when they were young not pushing 40. Silva should also be in the running, but he has been proven to be a user of PEDs at least once and that matters.

Fedor (no one is ever going to replicate going 30-1-1 at HW with a loss via cut while finishing 25 of those fights or better)

Anderson also got popped for Masteron of all substances (no wonder he's bald), and played it safe in fights against Demian Maia and Thales Leites whereas Fedor is acclaimed for fearlessly beating up Noguiera in his guard and exchanging with Cro Cop for much of the first round. Fedor only played it safe in his PRIDE debut against Semmy Schilt, which was a GSP-esque performance. Fedor also has a fucking appalling and laughable camp, and the fact he succeeded at all after Russian Top Team is shocking.

NOBODY - not GSP, not Anderson, not even Jon Jones - would be able to compete against UFC caliber opponents if they trained at Fedor's camp. NO chance in hell.

Jon Jones has clearly looked vulnerable when facing fights which nullify his size advantage. Even OSP who is nowhere near Jon's caliber. We may see him lose to rangier fighters some time soon.
