I completely agree. Word is he's making very good money in Poland so the only reason why he'd come over to the UFC would be to test himself against legitimate elite competition but money is probably just too sweet. Askren just isn't impressive, imo. I'd like to see Marlon Moraes have a go in the UFC as well.

He is the biggest star next to JJ, a celebrity pretty much. He was on multiple talk shows etc. Every casual knows him. So I think money is good and for a 35 year old with a family it doesnt make much sense to go anywhere. Moraes is an interesting option, no doubt. But the BW division is pretty stacked at this moment. Flyweights, Heavyweights and female fighters is what ufc needs. Why isnt Alexa Grasso in the UFC already btw?

Well damn, good for him. Totally understandable why he won't make the transition and I agree it probably won't happen anytime soon if ever. Good question man I really hope they sign her soon. Tybura is a recent signing and although he lost to Johnson I think he still has a bright future. Can't really think of many HWs outside the UFC that could do well besides Minakov.

It's criminal that Jake Shields is no longer in the UFC.
This, and at the time I also disagreed with the cuts of Fitch and Okami. I'd like to see Shields back, he was top5 when they cut him, that shit isn't right.

Yeah, the thing is, if he fights in the UFC and loses (what very well night happen) the bubble pops and he is no longer the invincible guy many polish fans consider him to be.

I was do hyped about Tybura but his performance was underwhelming. Hope he comes back better Then ever. There just arent enough guys who are proper HW not just overweight.

Personally, I think all fighters should be able to fight wherever they want and not be locked to contracts, but that's another discussion. As for the best fighters outside the UFC (and could potentually do well / buff the division), you'd have to think:
Askren
Bibiano
Brooks
Chandler
Koreshov
Kharitanov
Fedor
Mo
Aoki (I'm lesser sold on Aoki in the bigger cage, but if Maia can win with an amazing single leg and pure grappling domination, I think Aoki can too)

Askren would catch a beating at the hands of any of the top 10 at WW, his striking is absolutely horrendous.

Damn, no love for Chandler anymore

I stll think he's one of the best 155ers in the world and has a lot of room for improvement even for how good he already is but i feel he's still picking up steam from being on that 3 fight skid(thought he beat Alvarez and Brooks in the their first fight). Shouldn't be long before he's a regular in these threads again.

Michael Venom Page
Ben Askren
Koreshkov
Akhmetov/Bibulatov/Pietro Menga
Darrion Caldwell
Will Brooks

I actually just looked at when Ben's contract is up...two more fights & in December. The 9th to be specific. Maybe 2017 will be the year for the Funky one! :D

@Meathead Jock

If the UFC sells before then the chances probably increase; although it'd be a little less entertaining to get the Funky One in the UFC if he isn't sitting in the same pre and post fight conferences with Dana.

Chalidov doesn't have ambition to fight in the UFC.
He is happy that KSW gives him old fighters who are long years after their prime.

No respect for guys like him.

Askren and Minakov should be.

Askren for sure even though not crazy about his style of fighting..

I see alot of people nominating Mamed but hes not top 5....

Besides Shields, Phil Davis and Bendo (In LW) , who have been there.
(Palhares is definitely in UFC level, but i would never feel safe fighting him)

Marlon Moraes
Bibiano Fernandes
Justin Gaethje
