He focused on cardio for this fight made tremendous strikes. He knows he has to get more technical now with his striking defense/offense, just wait and see. After he sleeps Yancy in his next fight, all will be well again.

Him being overhyped does'nt mean he can't improve

But peoples are like that

Watch Ngannou, now every sherdouche pretend he's some kind of joke because the current Champ defeated him lol

Perry is an entertaining fighter with gaping holes in his game. He needs so much work.

Like @Arm Barbarian said, a real camp and a real corner would be a good start.

He started too early trying to land the big shot, sometimes it pays off big, this time it hurt his whole gameplan.

He should experiment at some other gyms and get out of his element cross-training.

He is young, he could be like a WW Jeremy Stephens if he was more patient, calculated, and defensively sound.

Kevin Lee choked out Chiesa too long, irreversible brain damage occured

His brain might not survive the learning he needs. He's already 3 beers short of a 6 pack.

It's a hard sell after falling short like he did... but I've seen him better & watched him changing his game. It's just so strange that he made a bunch of changes prior to this fight, but they didn't show through. I don't know what happened there, but he's got high quality tools. It's just obviously not coming together for him just yet.

Interestingly, he said Monday before the fight that he's got cabin fever & has the urge to move. I find that very interesting. Seemz like that's exactly what he needz to do.

He has a couple of tools sure, but he's got more holes and his tolls are not as superlative as people make them out to be. He can surely improve but Sherdog keeps falling for his hype anytime he fights again. There likely isn't a camp out there that pushes the guy into the top 5, but top 10 is a good goal for him to set.

I'd love to see him evolve his game and go on a run. Not seeing it so far but I'll be rooting for him.

I honestly think he should have grappled more in that fight. Took Griffins back and mounted him pretty damn easy at the end of the first round. Griffin just had too much speed for him and I figured Perry would try and mount him again. He was definitely the stronger fighter. Didn’t happen.

The biggest hole I saw in his last fight was no adjustments. Low fight IQ. That reflects his corner as well. Just needs a new camp.

I like Perry though and hope he does improve. He’s a character and the dude definitely brings it every time he’s in there. Not giving up on him yet.

He's good a loooong road ahead. It starts with getting serious with his training. CrossFit w/his gf ain't gonna cut it.

Doubtful. Not only does he have low fight IQ, he has low IQ to go along with it.

Perry is straight garbage. I have 1000% more optimism for Lando Vannatta than I do Perry.

First off Mike shouldn't be fighting in the UFC, he should be fighting easier comp. in lessor orgs. and learn how to set up the big punch via jabs, etc. instead of 1 big haymaker at a time. his cardio seems ok though for a guy who's muscular as he is. Second, he needs to put his bitch in a regular seat and not in his corner yelling instructions, what the fuck does she know about fighting or fight strategy? (actually this should be the first thing he should do)
Three, come up with an actual game plan as opposed to just trying to KO the guy in front of him, we all seen over and over, if Mike can't KO his opponent, he loses.

100% agreed. Just look how far Mike made with his freaking girlfriend cornering him. Give him a real camp and his hype train will get back on tracks in no time.

Didn't cop it at the time, but he's fought a ridiculous number of fights in a short space of time - nobody is forcing him to fight, but he's not going to improve on his skill-set going from one training camp to the next.

Maybe he's broke and/or owes out a lot of money.
