(this only counts UFC, the best of the best)

This list is not just based on who beats who but also pure talent, legacy and history.

10. Chris Weidman
09. Renan Barao
08. BJ Penn
07. Benson Henderson
06. Anthony Pettis
05. Jose Aldo
04. Jon Jones
03. Cain Velasquez
02. Anderson Silva
01. Georges St. Pierre

I have gsp as #1 because he pretty much retired champion.. Anderson just lost two in a row. However, based on talent, I think Cain Velasquez is probably the greatest MMA fighter in the entire world as of right now.

(Note I didnt include royce, couture, matt hughes etc... because despite having legacy and stuff, they just dont have the rest to be in the level of those guys ^)

This thread is about to get shit on for not having any older fighters on it (aside from Penn)

Prepare your anus, white belt.

^ I edited my post above and put my reasoning why i didnt include guys like royce, couture, hughes etc.

I can see an argument for Brock Lesnar being in there, but I cant put guys like Tito and Chuck with those guys because I think the level of talent of those guys is far beyond that of tito and chuck.

Let's just make a list of all the current champions and call them the best ever.

Another list made by a clueless individual who clearly knows nothing about the history of the sport.

That said, Cain above Bones is a fucking joke. Cain isn't even top fucking 20, Bones is easily the #1 p4p fighter today and is arguably the best fighter ever.

Not worth the effort to critique.

Kill yourself....... Please.

how is Jones even in the top 5 pound for pound when his size is big factor in his fights.

Cain Velasquez has 10 times the talent Jones does and would destroy him in a fight.

There is not a single man in the world who could beat Cain Velasquez more times than not.

Chris Weidman has quite a legacy. Same with Benson. And good lord, Pettis? I like Pettis a ton, but he lost to Clay Guida for gods sake.

I like Weidman, he beat Anderson, but that's 2 fights. He has a way to go before he's top anything all time.

And Benson? Benson is good, but good lord, his legacy is squeaking out decisions and sometimes dubious ones. And getting kicked in the face by Pettis.

The all time list in the UFC, if I were writing it, would include Cain, Randy, Chuck, Jon Jones, Anderson, GSP, BJ, Aldo, and I'm not sure where the last few would go. Probably somewhere with the gatekeepers. Maybe Rich and Vitor? It gets pretty murky. JDS? I would have a hard time not including Mir, who is the most decorated HW in the UFC.

Sherdog never gets tired of this. I'll put Valesquez on top, then Barao then GSP, then Jones, then Silva.

wow...
that's like saying Michael Jordan isn't one of the greatest of all time because he wouldn't be able to hang with the bigger, faster athletes today.

or like saying Babe Ruth wasn't one of the greatest baseball hitters because he wouldn't be put up the same numbers in today's game.

If they dominated during their time, (and you SAID "all-time") they are more than worthy of being on this list.

fail on so many levels

Arguably the greatest and most brilliant fight in the history of MMA...

Just a reminder to anyone who actually thought Jose Aldo was a serious threat for the best p4p fighter in the world...

Sorry, the best fighter in the world doesn't coast for 5 rounds against a slow, predictable, terrified and hurt division III wrestler nor does he drop a 10-8 round against Mark "20-12, gifted a title shot, over the hill before age 30" Hominick.

Jones would easily besmirch Cain if he took off a year to gain 20 pounds.

Only A level athlete in the UFC.
