Tony is Not here to Entertain....

That vest is ludacris- was shocked to see that Tony is still fighting, he either gets starched or subs- him- and I don't think he is shook- but he isn't acting like the old Tony

Tony was the alpha during that staredown, Bobby was yelling a bunch of nonsense and acting a fool and Tony absolutely DGAF

I know Tony's got the knees of a 70ylo and is probably getting destroyed but he won that staredown
I dont think there was a staredown to win. Tony had his shades on and just avoided the show business altogether.

I am sure fighters, especially Tony in this instance, have a lot going on outside of fighting. They Fight, in front of millions of people, and do this while going thru every day bs like most people do. Tony might wear it on his sleeve, but he is balancing life and the crazy world of fighting quite well. For some reason, this fight IS the true main event, so much weird energy around it. Shades and Blades ftw.

Yeah but at least Nate was a big star, you know. Its more motivating,I guess.
That's true enough, I guess all I'm saying is my analysis of his body language(or lack thereof) and vibe is nervousness with a stoic front, rather then a confident "handle business, this guy ain't even worth trash talk" mentality.

And it's still a PPV with main card slot, so should be some motivation even if he's used to it by now.

In any case I can't wait to see come Saturday night, I mean to be clear stylistically this is a great matchup for Tony. Bobby Green is a volume guy so hes not gonna Chandler KO Ferg and it is a big step down outside of the Nate fight(which honestly Tony looked awful in).

Let there be glorious sanctioned violence come Saturday, and let there be blood spilt for the Gods are hungry.

Hahah neither of us know shit, this is all SPECULATIONS

but i just think he come across like "what the fuck EVER" cos he knows he is,in his words "5 wins away from a title shot"

Its not easy to constanty summon the same motivation. He MUST have lost something in those losses that he cant get back, and it will show. It's very difficult to keep climbing that mountain as you slide further and further from the top each time. Esp when everyone talks about it. Everyone thinks after that Gaethje fight,he will never be the same and the slide will be downward henceforth, and so far, thats how its been.

Speculation???

My friend this is the immortal science of Shookology  ;).

And 100%. Sadly the real story here with Tony is the timeless equation of;
age + damage = decline.

Ain't nothin' new under the sun ha.

No,it isnt.

it's especially sad with him, because he made two crucial mistakes and it cost him everything.

And it didnt help that his corner in the Justin fight was completley inept and failed him utterly. Wouldnt be the last time they'd do that either.

I agree with his inept corner and there's other factors to an extent (not least of which being his chaotic personal/family life probably) but wait you don't think Tony is declining due to age and damage??
His speed alone has tanked.

Of course those are all factors, but the beating he took againt Justin took some of his soul and years off his life. He cant get that back. You cant just be the same guy after something like that.

Oh absolutely that's basically all of the "damage" part of the age + damage equation here ha.

No one can come back from a beating like that, it's that quote about leaving a peice of yourself in the ring from that overly flowery waxing poetic sack known as Teddy Atlas.

Tony had a complete decline during the pandemic years. Up until that recent decline Tony was a far better fighter based on record. Their ages are not that far apart and both have a long history of professional fighting but something is wrong with Tony either mentally, physically or both. Bobby isn't exactly a KO machine so despite the odds I would give Tony the edge here.

Unless Tony grapples or something (and idk if he'll even be able to), Bobby's unfortunately going to turn his face into hamburger.

They both look like shit in their last fight. Tony looked really bad against Nate. Nate looked like crap too. I think Green is a little less shot.

Honestly I'd like to see a combat sports stats/chart cross referencing fighters who wore sunglasses throughout the press conference with whether they won or lost.

I suspect it doesn't augur well. But, hey, maybe I'm wrong.

I dont put a big emphasis on that. People who wear sunglasses just dont want to give that energy to someone trying to make a public puffed up show out of it. Some people jsut dont want to engage in that,or arent in the mood too. The cage door closing, thats a different story, now you can fight instead of talk, punch instead of pose. Look at a guy like Nick Diaz who hated to do these pressers, but fought like a demon in the cage. We also know his bro aint no bitch either.

So you cant put too much stock into these things. Sometimes people aint in the fuckin mood, and do this shit because they are contractually obligated to do so.

I have a feeling Tony will throw the same kick up the middle that he got knocked out with by Chandler. But my prediction is it doesn't land

Fair enough. Might only be something I notice when they happen to lose. Although now that I've thought about it I'm still legitimately curious! (But these are the deranged musings of a lonely loser nerd who works nights. Lol!)

I don't think Bobby is powerful enough to stop Tony and hopefully I'm right
