News Tony Ferguson VS Influencer boxer Salt Papi August 30th

Tony about to get done by Papi I fear

Some clarifications. I believe Salt Papi is NOT Salt Bae. I've seen Salt Bae before and never saw or heard of Papi, but Bae doesn't look like that picture. If they are the same person, that guy has changed majorly.

Also, THIS is the comain  to Till vs Rockhold. Don't misread the OP as saying Till vs Rockhold is a comain fight

They are the same person. Salt Bae got surgery to look 20 years younger and Filipino.

This is Salt Papi vs Anthony Taylor. Taylor is a journeyman in MMA that got into influencer boxing. Salt Papi isn't some world class boxer but he can hurt Tony. Tony is old and his reflexes are slow.

It has to be said, Salty Papi is much better than I expected. Kind of surprised he lost to that journeyman tbh.

He has the most potential of any of the "influencer" boxers, and the most natural talent. Including Jake Paul. This guy has more natural speed, power, fluidity. He has some semblance of fundamentals too.

So all said, I would be shocked if he doesn't thump Tony to bolivian.

Unfortunately Salt papi most likely smokes Tony

Tony could make it interesting by bringing the pressure of a real fight to him, make it a dog fight.

But I think it's a technical mismatch.

Tony is probably gonna get destroyed and it will be really sad and pathetic.

It's true. Salt Papi really is a natural with boxing.

I saw one of his first fights and dude moves very well.

Pretty sure boxing is one of the most popular sports in the Philippines.

Even in his prime Tony was more known for his elbow strikes than punching and his reflexes are beyond shot now. It's going to be very ugly.

Best case for him is it's finished quickly like when Jake Paul fought Askren.

I know it's something that almost all of us have known for years, but appearances and physique sure are deceptive in combat sports aren't they.

He looks in way better shape now, but for example a couple of years ago, you never would have guessed this guy was a boxing natural, and actually faster, more athletic than his opponents.

I wonder how he even got into boxing, if it was jumping on this "influencer" boxing trend or what.

this is so sad and embarrassing. Atleast with that GFL bullshit him vs Danis would have been interesting. go get paid though I guess.

This slob has zero amateur fights and has already lost twice to total cans, including being stopped.

He'd have to improve 10 times to reach club level. A boxing natural ffs...

The real question is which type of loss has a better chance to make him realize he needs to retire from combat sports.

Getting smoked in the first, but he could claim the fight didn't go long enough...or...getting outclassed the entire fight in a unanimous decision with his face/body looking like a hooker got beaten by her pimp, but he could say he was never out of the fight.

I mean where does he go from here after losing to an influencer boxer? Bum fights versus fans in their backyards and they pay him $1,000 they charged on Mom's credit card?
