Tony Ferguson - "They need to stop dressing up in suits"

He's talking about how Khabib sat out for 2 years and had the nerve to call for a title shot multiple times after an uninspiring victory over Horcher
He was injured, he didn't sit out. Ferguson's best win is Barboza, and after that there isn't much. Francisco Trinaldo has been really active and is on a big winning streak, I guess he deserves a title shot over Khabib too? Khabib destroyed the former champ...and since each has one quality win how about we give the title shot to the guy who literally has never lost? Also speaking of uninspiring victories, what about Ferguson nearly getting finished by a newcomer? At least Khabib took care of his business clean.

I know he was injured. It's universally known that Khabib was injured, that's what I meant.

Ferguson's come from behind submission over a stud in Vanatta >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Khabib's victory over Horcher who was giving him problems in the standup and was drawn out from a horrible weight cut

Khabib's only top 10 win is over RDA before he became a beast. Yawn.

How do we know Vanatta is a stud? Maybe Ferguson just isn't that good. That's quite a spin, though. Both fought newcomers on short notice and one nearly got finished multiple times yet his performance is more impressive. Ferguson's only top 10 win is over Barboza. Yawn. Khabib is the best lightweight in the world and it's not really close. He deserves the title shot. Ferguson is easy to root for because he is exciting but his striking defense is atrocious and outside of a really slick sub game he doesn't pose much of a threat to elite guys. Give the title shot to MJ then. He beat Ferguson, has a top ten KO over Dustin, and knocked out a guy that went to a split with Ferg in Danny Castillo. Ferguson is fourth in line at LW.

Khabib is the best lightweight in the world and it's not really close.

>The best lightweight in the world (and not even close)
>almost got outstruck by Darrell Horcher on short notice

pick one

If 'almost' getting outstruck is the worst thing you can put on the guy that's pretty good. I'll take almost getting outstruck to getting outstruck and almost finished by Vanetta on short notice. Or getting subbed by Nate on short notice. Or winning a split against Gil and then holding Pettis for 15 minutes. Or not being able to finish a gassed 145er. Every fighters is going to have spots that can be picked at. Khabib has never lost and would rag doll the entire division.

Vanatta is actually a good striker though, Horcher really isn't that impressive

Khabib hasn't lost but a big reason for that is because he hasn't actually fought anyone. He beat RDA who was probably top 10 but that was before he became the monster he is today. Then Khabib got hurt and didn't fight for TWO FUCKING YEARS

Khabib most certainly doesn't deserve a shot to headline to UFC 205. He needs to prove he can even be relied upon to make it to fight night.

Well yeah, maybe. I just think he deserves it more than Ferguson and is better. Of course he has a thin record against top ten but there is something to be said for the eye test. Mine says he's the best is all. I hate him but Cowboy probably has the best claim to a title shot at 155 atm..or Nate.

I remember Tony on the The Ultimate Fighter when he had a tradition of wearing a suit and tie before his fight. He was shadow-boxing with the straight-off-the-rack outfit, and was saying it's another day in the office.

You know, its funny. This IS my first account. Back in the day I enjoyed reading all the vitriol BS, but I didn't really want to participate. Oh well... guilty pleasures.
Same here I just started posting this year

"You can talk your way to the division (McGregor) and you can sit out for the longest time and try to wait for a title shot (Nurmagomedov) -- I've been earning my way up the whole entire time, taking great fights, taking moderate fights, but no matter what, coming out with finishes."

This coming from a guy with a hairline so badly receding he looks like a prehistoric bird. Then add the goofy 20 year outdated sunglasses he wears to that equation.. I don't think Ferguson should be giving advice on appearance

uninspiring? he beat the shit out of horcher

I remember the good ol days on Sherdog where we discussed fighting and not BS like this
