Tony Ferguson most exiciting fighter in UFC history ?

Op is a prisoner of the moment.

I'm a big fan of his, in the bigger picture, I will say that he is arguably the most exciting fighter who hasn't gotten a real title fight yet. (interm or cancelled fight don't count)

Does everyone agree the current LW division is pretty stacked? I'd argue it's the best division in the history of MMA, but that's certainly debatable. Even if you don't think that, you have to admit it's really, REALLY good.

Tony was won twelve, FUCKING TWELVE, fights in a row in this division. And he's done it with a style that is all action, nonstop offense, and utterly violent. He has creative striking, questionable defense but amazing durability and recovery, and ultra slick grappling. Crazy long reach and the long arms also make his chokes incredibly dangerous. The best front headlock to snapdown (#snapintuit) in MMA. Arguably the best cardio in the history of the sport. Literally everything, EVERYTHING you would pay to see in a fighter.

Take a look at the history of the UFC (throw in Pride and Strikeforce if you want) and see how many other guys you can find with 12 wins in a row. Any? Now how about 9 finishes in those 12 wins.

If he beats Khabib, he's pushing for a place on the Mt Rushmore of MMA. He'll be in that GSP, Fedor, Jones, Silva league of guys. And quite frankly, he's more exciting than any of them.

Prisoner of the moment yet the opening statement is listing his performance bonus performances in the last 6 year stretch and the 2nd statement is me talking up his reality TV performance from literally 15 seasons ago....... (yeah that's so "prisoner of the moment")

We're talking about Tony, not Khabib. Tony hasn't been hospitalized from trying to cut from MW to LW.
Lol, yet oddly enough he is taller than Khabib and has stated himself he walks around at 200lbs which is quite a bit more than Khabibs pretty average for the current LW divisions 185.

Crazy right!!

Which one of them got hospitalized cutting weight again?

That Proper Twelve speaks for itself now. Come what may, guy's a legend already in this circus.

Not the point. Obviously Tony is far more disciplined when it comes to cutting weight and doesn't wait till the last minute like Khabib does.

The point is you called out Khabib when buddy mentioned Tony being a WW who cuts to LW despite the fact Tony is actually the bigger man.

For the record I like both guys and don't buy into this narrative but facts are facts.

Including his 3 TUF wins, which were only scheduled for 2 rounds but he finished all 3, Tony is 18-1 in the UFC. Fought on Spike, FOX, & now ESPN. He's one of the best fighters of all time.

Tony now has 6 straight FOTN performance.

11 of his 12 fights on his streak have been in contention for FOTN or knockout/submission of the night.

He's arguably the most exiciting TUF fighter ever finishing all 4 of his fights on the show

Literally insane. I've been watching since UFC 40 (Tito vs Shamrock) and i've never seen anything like Tony.

Crazy thing is he's not some wild unskilled goon going for broke either, he's a damn good fighter (alot of exciting fighters are too wreck less)

He is one of the must watch fighters indeed.
Most Exciting is subjective because some people love how unautodox style, some enjoy the aggressive ground and pound of Khabib, some love the flashiness of Wonderboy, some enjoy the aggression of 5th round Lawler, some enjoy the crazy BJJ of Do bronx, some love the volume and aggression of Max..

It’s in the eyes of the beholder.

Agreed but that's also what makes Tony special. He's literally a little bit of everything you listed

Gaetche vs Ferg, make UFC great again, battle of the GOAT war machines

He's definitely in the discussion.

Tony, Leben, Gaethje, Cerrone, Chuck, Wandy, Anderson (a few duds, but his aura and otherworldliness was insane), Nick Diaz, Nate Diaz, Hendo, Lytle, Vitor, Rumble, Bones (re: Anderson), Lauzon, Robbie, and Conor all have a strong argument.

It's why I always found it strange Dana was so lukewarm on him...even before his personal issues surfaced. He would make an amazing champion. Exciting as hell.

I think Sakuraba's run is the only reasonable comparison at least in terms of excitement. It was broken by the open weight tournament fight against Vovchanchyn, but if we pretend that does not count, he went 12-0-1 with 9 finishes.

Getting compared to Saku doesn't suck LOL...
