UFC trying way too hard to make thin divisions interesting. Ngannou has a puncher's chance and because it's HW anything can happen, but Stipe has KO'd much better fighters. Oezdemir is way out of his league, imo. He's going to get massacred.

Not to say that these aren't good fights - They should be fun, but these matchups expose the thinness of the divisions.

The UFC needs to pay their fighters and keep them around, especially at HW where old guys can still bang.
 
DC might have a case of a declining chin, the Jones stoppage was extremely late but that remains to be seen.

I fear Ngannou is gonna crush Stipe quickly.

If the event doesn't seem like a balanced challenge because you're super impressed by stipe that only shows the champ at that weight defense is impressive

Don't cry about the entire org just because their title holder is beefy

205 and HW are both thin divisions with no new talent, maybe. Its quick, but is waiting 2 more fights to give them title shots really going to make them improve THAT much.

If they have it they have it, and they'll win tonight, if they lose I don't think it's because they needed 1-2 more camps of experience

And Ngannou almost killed the #1 contender in Overeem. Does he need to clear the division before fighting for the title?
 
I'm not say that these weren't the fights to make - I'm saying that these dudes are in over their heads. Francis, not as much because of the KO factor at HW, but Volkan is not ready for DC.
 
I agree but both challengers have brutal power and can end it.

Who exactly should they have kept at Heavyweight? Meathead? Big Country? 265 across all promotions is thin....it’s not the UFC being cheap.
 
lol......both championships have a STRONG possibility of changing hands to night. Francis is the hardest hitting HW. Volkan possibly the hardest hitting LHW. Both are huge threats. Sit down and enjoy the fights..

Ill get blasted for saying this...but DC is one of the better matchups for Shogun at the tip top of LHW.

He should be a strong underdog no doubt, but I can envision him winning that fight..

Ngannou is not thin imo. What was he yesterday, 265? ts, please have your eyes checked.
