Not really a fan of either but Cohen is funnier. His ‘Borat’ character alone casts a shadow over anything Green ever did.

Green was more weird than funny tbh, and I’m not a fan of that kind of thing. Kaufman was the best at that sort of weird awkward never breaking character kind of humor and tbh.. I don’t care much for him either.

Cohen is a bit different in that he’s actually decently witty at times and comes up with some funny bits/sketches

I like both, to an extent. Cohen is better IMO, Green is a lot sillier but I must admit I have laughed my tits off at him at times. Ali G and Borat were immense SBC characters, wasn't a fan of Bruno though to be honest.

Cohen .

Mind you , he filmed a lot of Ali G where I was living and working on the mean streets of Staines.

Aii, Westside.

The Ali G show was some of the funniest shit to ever be put on film. Tom Green has never done anything worth of being put on film.

I can't believe this is a thread. I can't believe that Tom Green has almost 30% of the votes right now

Sacha Baron Cohen is a comedic genius. He should be compared with Dave Chappelle or something, not freakin' Tom Green.

Any Brit who used to watch The 11 O'Clock Show every night in the 90s knows it's Sacha Baron Cohen. Ali-G was epic. I love Ricky Gervais but when he took over it just wasn't the same.

This answer will depend entirely on what side of the pond you live on.

Tom Green wasn't that big in the UK. Cohen was.
Yeah I bought a couple of Tom Green DVDs when I lived in the UK but he wasn't well known like The 11 O'clock Show.

I liked tom till he did a whole thing about poo.

They have somewhat similar kind of comedy skits. One is being himself for the most part Tom Green and the other plays characters Sacha Baron Cohen.

But both try to get a rise off unknowing participants/strangers.

I've never found Tom Green to be funny. He's very childish in his humor. Cohen can be the same, but the difference is he's actually funny.

Cohen.

But I don’t care for “prank” style comedy and think both are assholes and don’t watch any of their troll work anymore.

I still like Road Trip though

Andy Dick’s spoof of Green was great

Quality vs quantity. Cohen has done lots of characters and put out lots of content, but I find him insufferable more often than not and only occasionally funny, and even when funny never hilarious. Green, on the other hand, has done way less and it was a long time ago, but he was so influential and when I watch his stuff even today - his show, Road Trip, and Freddy Got Fingered - I laugh way harder and his stuff has factored way more significantly into my viewing. I still find Road Trip and Freddy Got Fingered fucking hilarious, but I have no desire to ever go back to anything of Cohen's, not even Borat, which even as an Armenian guy I don't find very funny even though plenty of my relatives love it. For me, it's Green and it's not close.

I didn't grow up with Tom Green's comedy, to me he's a reference on The Real Slim Shady and the movie Freddie Got Fingered. I watched Borat and Ali G so I gotta say Cohen from a biased perspective.

I liked the Tom Green Show that was on MTV(I think) but Ali G show was way better and Borat was a lot funnier than Freddie Got Fingered
Tom Green going to Japan was hella funny
