Jon's agreement he signed before the Gane fight was probably very specific about picking Stipe if he won, and he would probably retire before fighting anybody else. I doubt the UFC are in a big hurry to publicly announce that Jon has them over a barrel, but they should have stripped him anyway and let him either retire or fight Stipe in a seniors league exhibition.

Jones got hurt and Stipe is waiting on the Jones fight that was promised to him. I do not see the problem there. Aspinall can be upset that Dana has not stripped Jones but the Aspinall crying is ridiculous. I get it, that is what gets you a fight but the Stipe fight was before he was interim. It is a shame that jones is out for as long he is out but this is beginning to turn into a circus.

I can see if jones beat Stipe and then does not fight Aspinall, okay he has the right to call jones out. But Stipe was already ahead of him on the line, and just because he feels he is more fit to fight jones does not mean he should jump the line. I think i am more fit to get a raise from my boss than my coworker but he was there first.

This is like saying BJ Penn was always the number 1 contender and Islam should fight him, it’s outrageous that the champ of the division is fighting a retired grandpa. It is pretty simple. The fans want to see Tom vs Jones. Not Jones vs Stipe. The fans voted for it in Jons own poll on X. No one wants to see HW who has not won in 4 years. This fight does nothing Jons legacy while a fight with Tom does.

Stipe was not retired, he was recovering and bulking up for a trilogy fight with Ngannou. Both Jones and Stipe are over 30 and are grandpas, Aspinall is not fighting prime jones, he is fighting an old man. I never claimed that Stipe was #1 contender that was Sergei, I said jones and Stipe was booked before Aspinall was interim. It is Aspinalls fault for losing to Blaydes, and being a backend fighter when jones came to HW.

We already went through this and you can read. I already mentioned that Dana is at fault and could have stripped jones for the long injury. Thus it is not hard to understand why Aspinall has defended his interim title since the current champion is out with a long injury. Aspinall would be doing this regardless since jones is injured and not back.

I should be able to jump the line at the theater as I feel i worked harder than others first on the line, which is absurd. Aspinall can wait like a good interim does for the fight that was booked before his to finish. If Dana wants to strip jones then he should, if not, it is what it is.

I will be so glad when Stipe/Jones is over. I've been reading bitching about it for a year. Jones was hurt, Stipe was given the fight and waited.

It's not fair, but Aspinall barely had to train against Pavlovich, came up on a short notice win. Had 1 camp for Blaydes which he got to avenge a bad loss. Has to wait for 1 fight.
