Todd Duffee is 29 years old and cannot be written off

He can definitely be written off. That 7 second right he attempted to throw at MIR before being brutally knocked out was just...

The fight IQ along with fight muscle memory are not there. Spent too many years as an athlete shooting hoops or whatever the fuck he did. Definitely not punching people in the face.

Duffee is and always was a shadow boxer.

People are over reacting to the knockout. Todd completely underestimated Mir and swung wildly. He is only twenty nine and has time to improve but Todd seriously needs to slow it down and set it up.

Mistakes like that are caused by lack of time drilling strikes.

He needs serious and continuous striking drills until his muscle memory won't let him do something that stupid again.

Nobody corks back a haymaker like that and wings it like their entire arm is frozen in a cast.

Mir not only had time to dodge that shot, but to bat it away with the same side hand. Think about how f'ing slow that punch had to be for Mir to let it pass his left hand then reach out and slap it away (still mid swing) to set up his counter.

Mir bats it away, rechambers and then fires the knockout punch all while that haymaker is in flight.

He has a weak chin, extremely low fight IQ/discipline, hasn't beaten anyone good ever, has had multiple extended layoffs, and has never won a fight that went out of the 1st round. I'm not saying Duffee has "peaked" or will never be a top fighter, but he is heading to Roy Nelson territory where he is basically known as a threat for the first round and after that, he is done except unlike Roy, Duffee can't survive punishment

Roy Nelson is a much better fighter than Duffee.

Maybe he'll be good in ten years then?
Personally, I hope he has a back-up plan to fall back on, and gets himself into a more lucrative career before then.
