After speaking at length with a former ufc fighter recently, we think it'll be a disaster for the new owner for the first few years. The class action lawsuit and future lawsuits from fighters will be a massive pain in the ass. It will cause changes to mma. Also, the Muhammed Ali act will be implemented and...
a long needed fighters union. I've been championing for a union with collective bargaining as a first for mma. I understand that fighters have an overall IQ lower than 110 and relatively new business acumen cuz hey, they're busy getting their heads bashed in. Also, the current champions aren't exactly banding together and trying to affect change. Question is, who will form the executive mgmt team to run a fighters union?
Fighters only have themselves to blame cuz they don't know how to create leverage and demand changes.
Maybe the class action will encourage change or the death of a fighter or a new apparel sponsor worse than Reebok will come in...
